Chinese Paper Lanterns (1.20)

To fit with the theme of diversity and storytelling, why not add traditional Chinese lanterns to add a different and festive flavour to lighting. The basic crafting recipe would be a torch surround by 7 paper and 1 type of dye. The dye would determine what colour and shape the lantern takes. E.g. a red lantern would be round whilst a blue one might be more rectangular. Paper lanterns could be hanged from the bottom of blocks but not from the side. In addition when placed on the ground the lantern could float a certain number of blocks into the air, spinning around slowly. The player could also stand on the lantern, making for interesting parkour. In conclusion, having Chinese Paper Lanterns would give lot of opportunity for builds, parkour and storytelling.

    bro edit this so they more likely add it ;
    like make more interasting functionalty (think) 2hours or day by day
    and like some comments say; make it not that simple not so fitting to all sides of Minecraft

    Hope thid gets added soon.Will work perfect for building.Maybe add a Chinese lantern with Redstone to.Also toggle spinning.

    You know what? This is actually a good idea! Although maybe if it does get added, maybe make the hitbox for the block not a full block..

    This would be good for medieval houses!.. Or a house in the style of the old Chinese eras.. Hopefully this gets added! :D

    This is not a bad idea at all, but knowing that cherry trees are more typical in Japan, why not making them Japanese paper lanterns instead of Chinese?

    I think they should add this. This would help when building Asian inspired builds and like they said would make for some cool parkour.

    It would be a good idea, since we can use them as very good decorations, also you can make a village for the villagers in the new biome! (I hope they add the clothing to the villagers)
