Chinese Paper Lanterns (1.20)

To fit with the theme of diversity and storytelling, why not add traditional Chinese lanterns to add a different and festive flavour to lighting. The basic crafting recipe would be a torch surround by 7 paper and 1 type of dye. The dye would determine what colour and shape the lantern takes. E.g. a red lantern would be round whilst a blue one might be more rectangular. Paper lanterns could be hanged from the bottom of blocks but not from the side. In addition when placed on the ground the lantern could float a certain number of blocks into the air, spinning around slowly. The player could also stand on the lantern, making for interesting parkour. In conclusion, having Chinese Paper Lanterns would give lot of opportunity for builds, parkour and storytelling.

    Está genial la idea. Con la parte del diseño de decoración, se podría usar los estandartes o algo similar a lo de las armaduras o vasijas, pero crafteables

    I do t think this would be very ‘minecrafty’ and would be like the new pot block. I think Minecraft needs to instead of adding new features, needs to tweak and improve other features. So to sum it up, I think Minecraft devs: A. Need to actually edit Minecraft, NOT add to Minecraft.

    And, if you’re GOING to, you may as well add dyed paper. Plus, you shouldn’t allow colors like: pink, yellow, bright blue, etc. I saw someone’s comment that the crafting recipe should involve frog lights, which is a good thought. BUT I think it should be involved with candles because LITERALLY NOBODY uses or used candles EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This is something that will most likely never be added, because it's not a trivial thing. This is more suitable as an add-on you can refer to that at minecraft 1.20.1 apk. It's a good idea but I think it needs to be considered from many sides

    I like it, but I'd rather that the shape and color be independent. Maybe make a shape-dependent recipe for the paper part for different shapes and then add the torch and dye to make it a color (or no dye for colorless)
