Chinese Paper Lanterns (1.20)

To fit with the theme of diversity and storytelling, why not add traditional Chinese lanterns to add a different and festive flavour to lighting. The basic crafting recipe would be a torch surround by 7 paper and 1 type of dye. The dye would determine what colour and shape the lantern takes. E.g. a red lantern would be round whilst a blue one might be more rectangular. Paper lanterns could be hanged from the bottom of blocks but not from the side. In addition when placed on the ground the lantern could float a certain number of blocks into the air, spinning around slowly. The player could also stand on the lantern, making for interesting parkour. In conclusion, having Chinese Paper Lanterns would give lot of opportunity for builds, parkour and storytelling.

    I love the idea it’s amazing, but I really wanted to have like a yellow light instead of white. Do people get what I mean I love Minecraft it’s perfect but sometimes you need a block but it’s not fair so I think they should add a category of the items

    You could add Chinese lamps and have them have a use, that is, to tell stories. If you are not going to add them, it is because we have the lamps in Minecraft, it is not necessary to add them. Thank you

    Yes I’m not Chinese but it would be amazing if mojang added some tradition to Minecraft I would’ve boycotted the vote because we deserve all three but this would be awesome

    The floating mechanic doesn’t have to be added since a moving light source would be too much to add, but if they did, paper lanterns could simply be a glowing entity like fireflies.
    Much like how boats float on water, paper lanterns could act like an entity that floats to a certain height elevation (200 or cloud elevation), but if tied down, they won’t break off. Throwing a wind charge at them would make them fly & drift apart more naturally.

    Deberían de poner un nuevo dragón , ya q no tiene lógica q el huevo del dragón se haya echo Haci de la nada y ponerlo en el nether ya q uno sería el del en y otro el de el nether el cual tendrías q matar para poder salí del nether y te diera en vez de un huevo te dirá un tipo arma de fuego es mi umilde opinión :)
