Use glass, or glass panes... although with what you're intending you'd need command blocks, or really fancy piston doors to do that.

I'm not sure how that would "help bad builders become good"... more like "help bad builders summon pre-build structures while remaining just as bad as normal and not improving."

They should have clay patches that generate in specific biomes, and sometimes underground (similar to gravel and dirt).

But if you take a bite of the cake, then being able to pick it up again would give you infinite food. So, it should only be able to be picked up when no slices have been eaten.

Milk bowl? :/ Cheese would be good, they could add more foods (and there are no tomatoes in Minecraft, so how would they make Pizza anyway?).

No, but maybe soul fire could increase the speed the duration runs out (along with a special particle effect and maybe sound effect so you know about it).

I like that idea. People could get single Roses, Peony's, and Lilacs. And they could do that for Azaleas too perhaps.
