Please make it so Camels can swim without us having to automatically dismount. This is something horses, donkeys, mules and other rideable mobs all due, and I’m sick of it.

I love the Camel Idea, but maybe it should be possible to get milk form them ? Camel's milk exist in real life !

I Like The Camel For Starters the fact it's Two Seaters I Really Enjoy that I and my (Non-existent) Freind can ride together

My Only Dislike is the Jumping Animation It Just looks unrealistic
And maybe add two seats available for horses

Camels need to spawn more. Since they only spawn once in a desert village (and you to explore and find a brand new desert village!), I feel they are way too rare. To keep their rarity but also making them more accessible, they could be a rare spawn in the desert biome itself. Or, they could also spawn at the other desert structures, such as desert wells and desert temples.

The 1 humped camels being placed only in villages is a smart idea BECAUSE the one humped Dromedaries are EXTINCT in the wild! BUT. The 2 humped Bactrians are still in the wild IRL. We need the 2 humped camels in the game and to spawn rarely in the wild!

Camels should spawn in desert biomes as well because they aren't so powerful that they need to spawn only in desert villages.

Amazing! Though maybe you could add the functionality to milk them, as in real life, you can milk camels for camel milk and was used to give it to horses to drink in Arabia, maybe you could give it to horses maybe, even though you don't have to do either, it would be a great feature!

Camels really would benefit from a customization like llamas, horses, cats, and dogs. Having dyed saddles or some other method to give the cane some style would make the camel easier to spot and separate it from other camels.

I think the Camel is a good addition but I think that they should be able to spawn in the wild instead of just being confined to villages. They would make the deserts feel more alive which they need quite a bit and as of now its quite tedious to get them when its basically just an alternative to the horse. Maybe you would need to tame camels by riding on them like Horses.

Camels should be able to hold villagers. Villagers are a pain to move. It would be awesome to have villagers ride camels and the player just uses a lead to guide them.

Villagers should be able to ride on camels. So it will be easier to move villagers

The jump animation needs to be slower. Currently the jump looks to hectic and looks bugged out.

Camels are an invasive species in Australia, some way of showing this could help rasie ecological awareness about habitats, say random spawns in acacia biomes and driving other animals off (or other animals dont spawn there). There is no Australian biome so it cant be represented exactly

Camels need to spawn in the desert. It is going to be really frustrating to ride one from a desert village 7+ kilometers away back home to Fort Kash Money (which is a desert and a village). I’d have to cross significant, kilometer wide oceans as well. Is there any way is long time 7+ year world players can easily get one?

For a long time before I used the feedback site I considered suggesting camels, but now I didn't even have to request it! Thanks, Mojang!

Camel spawns should not be limited to villages. On a map with limited size, if all the camels were to die on accident or fail to spawn for some reason, there is no other way to obtain them. If they appeared (rarely) as a passive mob spawn throughout the desert biome, this problem could be avoided.

Camels have changed their walking patterns to a 'pacing gait' like they do in real life.

Llamas (being closely related to camels) should have their walking patterns changed as well.

Camels and Llamas both have the distinctive 'pacing gait' walking pattern where the front and back legs of each side move alternatively.

Also, think about how COOL it would look to have you and your friend mounted on a camel, leading a caravan of llamas though the desert, while the movement of their legs are all synchronized.

Yes the camel it great, it protects you from mobs bellow, it can dash across gaps, and your buddy can tag along with you but in real life camels are used in caravans which they hold stuff for the caravans to sell. So I think you should be able to put on a chest or barrel on it to hold stuff like the donkey.

Camels in real life have wide feet that are adapted to walking on sand more efficiently. I think it would make sense for camels in Minecraft to be able to walk on soul sand at a normal speed instead of being slowed down since their feet would prevent them from sinking into the sand. The camel being able to sprint over gaps already makes it better than other mounts for travel in the Nether so this could add even more reason to bring your camel companion to another dimension. It also provides a slower alternative to getting soul speed on boots for crossing soul sand valleys.

Please name them appropriately. I'm sure it's been said a thousand times, but those aren't camels. Camels have 2 humps. Dromedaries have 1.

I have only noticed 1 bug and that is when you are stuck inside a block on the camel and you go into third person you can xray similar to the previous composter xray.

I think the camel is an alright mob. The only issue I have, is more related to its position as a method of transportation, that it might provide too much value compared to the other options (except for the elytra).

WHY ARE THEY SO HARD TO FIND?! I just went to an abandoned sand village with cobwebs and there was nothing there there should be “AT LEAST” 2 camels per village if not more this is actually ridiculous

    They need chests

Similar to what others are suggesting, there should be the option to add chest storage to camels. Since they're larger than mules a larger storage, maybe one chest on each side would be useful. Adding storage could reduce the capacity to one rider. This would make the new camel more appealing to single player users since they currently have no reason to use camels over mules or horses.

    Posted as of Late 2018:

"Now that saddles have a new texture I feel like we should be able to dye them with dyes or something. Like cause we have Different wooden signs, Doors, Armor it would be cool to have colored saddles."

I feel like, since the addition of dyed leather armor, and the rather extensive customization provided by the new armor trims, I feel it would be a nice aesthetic to make saddles dyable, and trimmable if your feeling generous, it'd not only make camels, horses, pigs, and striders, more customizable and less.. generic? It'd also allow you to have matching armor with your favorite travel pal. Which, need I say, the concept of being "twinsies" will enhance camel interaction and usage by at-least 10% to 20%, not to mention, while the task would be very complex to add to pre-existing mobs, starting with the camel would not only align with the latest 1.20 update, but also, prove as a testing feature for future cosmetic additions for our most beloved companions.
