Although the intentions might be good, the execution of this player report feature will not work for Minecraft Multiplayer. Why are you trying to enforce this more than a decade later when it initially launched?

The past decade alot of (third party) servers have arisen, which all have their own way of moderating the game. Those (sub-)communities all have a variety of age, meaning no server fits all.
Now here's the biggest issue: this system only focusses on just one group, being smaller children, while leaving out the rest.

A better way to do this, is allowing an optional parenting feature that only allows smaller children to join Mojang affiliated services, such as realms. That way they won't be exposed to third party servers. This way the power stays for third party services in the community who to welcome on their server or not (using their own ban system as they already do), and allows Mojang to protect who desire it.

Remember: no-one is forced to stay on a server and can leave whenever they want.
Interference from Mojangs side would only undermine the control players have over their servers, which should be avoided at all cost. Not only would this gives trust issues, it also would split the community even further.

So in short: as someone who has played this game for over a decade: please listen to the community, do not continue with this (flawed) system. Leave the moderation to the community and don't take that right away from us.

    Thanks alot!

This is a god-awful idea, and will only push your fanbase away from your game.

Just drop chat reporting mods can fake messages so people can just trick the mods into banning people with no way to tell it’s faked

The community has been talking about removing the report system for about 2 months.

    You're not listening.

Microsoft/Mojang, I understand about trying to keep players safe and add a chat report system but the way you implemented it is disgraceful! Player report system can be abused easily, for example: A person really hates you for some reason and literally reports you for a ridiculous reason, for example you said "I'm going to jump off a cliff" that is not meant to be offensive, the "highly trained moderators" will deliberately ban you for that. So please, either remove chat report system or add a setting that can disable/enable this feature. Because of 1.19.1 chat reporting update, it's most likely that players are terrified about if they're going to be banned after saying a single chat. Also, server owners/admins can take care with moderation themselves, which was great until the update came. In fact, it's even worse than Roblox moderation. Microsoft/Mojang, your community doesn't want this and nobody does. This is  absurd!

Implementing this is a worst idea ever. Don't do this. The community doesn't want it and they are talking about removing this for 2 or 3 months now.

You're ignoring what the community wants, Microsoft. You're ruining everything!

This community will be crushed under this update. It’s heartbreaking that the fun block game that I have been playing for years has devolved like this.

This chat reporting and banning thing will be the downfall of Minecraft.

It makes me feel like there’s no point in even trying to argue, because the more negative feedback that Mojang and Microsoft get, the more it feels like they are trying to make this thing work when it is just a bad idea all around. Like trying to fit an elephant in a square shaped hole.

This whole thing makes me feel unsafe to play the game I love, when I’m probably just going to be permanently banned anyway for no fault of my own.

What’s even the point of playing Minecraft with this feature when I could literally be doing anything else?

This whole thing makes me feel so angry, but I know that insulting whoever had the idea to implement chat moderation and permanent banning and online banning— and even this whole system, is not going to help anyone.

This whole thing makes me feel like lashing out, but no amount of insulting Mojang’s mother is going to get anyone anywhere. So I beg of you, please. Listen. To. Your. Reviews. It’s really not that hard. There are thousands of people who are against this 1.19.1 banning update, and many who have suggested things to help improve it. Such as getting rid of the whole system.

Frankly, I really don’t care all that much, as much as leaving a few angry reviews is ‘much’. Just know that if this goes through and becomes a problem, then the legacy of Minecraft will not be much of a good legacy at all.

Remove the entire Chat Reporting Feature, Look at what happened to bedrock and also MOST java servers are privately run using 3rd party servers and thus SHOULD not be FORCED to do this, LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY.

I'm gonna keep it real simple. Hopefully you will actually approve the comment this time.

I don't like the chat report feature. Please, actually listen to the community. It's very clear a majority do not want this feature either. There are a lot of comments I've seen that have some actual good feedback. The system is flawed, and will be abused. It either needs a total rework, or shelved permanently.

    - Allow Servers to opt-out of the universal bans from the chat reporting system & show a warning prompt when players attempt to connect to said servers

-An account that's been Universally Banned should still have access to LAN play via Multiplayer, a status message should be shown on the multiplayer screen stating the account's been banned from online play.

Universal Bans should only take affect on servers that have opted into the global chat moderation. Server owners should have the option to participate in this system and not be forced to.

Even if servers opt-out of the message signature system, thus disabling the chat reporting on the server, Minecraft accounts that are banned would still be unable to play on servers that had opted-out of the message signature system.

Universal Bans should not disable the multiplayer screen because this also blocks access to LAN play.

I'm not even going to ask for the chat reporting feature to be rolled back/removed as it's been made clear by your official Mojang community moderators who have posted on the Minecraft subreddit that this system will not be removed.

People will begin to care less about whatever else comes in this update, and further updates, until Mojang delivers a response to their lack of attention to the community regarding player reports

As someone who's been playing minecraft for a long time, both on other friends devices and my own, I'm seriously dissapointed but the path Minecraft is going down in terms of moderation. If this is something Microsoft is going to persue nomatter community outlash, I pray that servers can opt into Microsoft regulated banning. But like most, I'd rather the report system not be implemented whatsoever. Online servers and realms have been moderated by it's users for years sucessfully without help. This new implementation is not only unecessary, but unwanted.
From inparticular ban reasons to the unclearity about unban requests, this implementation has done more harm to the community than good. I, like many others, hope to see this idea discarded.

Player chat reporting should be only on Realms. Other server are not owned by Mojang/microsoft

Mojang, the reporting system is bad, after adding it, people will fall into false bans, which will lead to a drop in online and the death of the game. As a small server owner, I don't want my small server to get smaller. I became afraid to respond to greetings from strangers on large servers. People will start downloading more pirated versions and less official ones. Minecraft may die and Hytale will become a famous game. Make it so that people can safely play Minecraft, do not ruin this wonderful sandbox

If the player report system is added I will no longer play on severs out of fear of being reported unless there is a viable workaround. As an adult I don’t feel I need to be protected from obscenities. I believe a proper solution to this problem would be to simply explain to parents the dangers of letting their child play online.

For years Minecraft has been a game, where everyone was able to decide what happens on their own server. That was one of its best things - you decide what's going on. With this update, you are taking people's rights to control their own server, which is the main problem for me. If you want your server to be family-friendly, you can very easily do that.

The other major problem - is false reports. No matter how many people review a report, it is still possible that people get falsely banned. I don't wish that to me, or to anyone else. I just want to enjoy Minecraft the way I have done all these years, without worrying that if I say something that someone doesn't like, I won't be able to play anymore.

This "feature" need at least to be reworked.

    It needs at least:

    - An Option for server admins to disable this
    - Or a workflow, that Server admins can choose what messages would be send to mojang and which not
