Chat reporting is a horrible idea - and will harm Minecraft and its players!

    REMOVE IT!!!

Please remove this feature immediately. This feature does not solve any sort of glaring issue that the Java Edition has, as moderation already exists in multiplayer. Servers already have their own designated moderation team that takes care of matters within their own individual server. Not to mention, this feature is highly exploitable as mass-reporting can be utilised wrongfully against one individual, causing the victim to be falsely punished by the moderation team at Mojang / Microsoft. In conclusion, moderation should be in the hands of individual servers and their moderators, NOT Mojang / Microsoft employees.

    This feature should be optional.
I host a server to play with my friends, who are adults and this feature is only gonna make us stop playing or stop using ingame chat.
Servers with this feature off should have a warning when joining, if you decide to maintain it.

This mistake has been made in bedrock and shouldn-t be brought to java, it should be corrected in both versions. Each comunity sets their rules, and people are free not to join the game.

No amount of context of the ingame chat will tell you about the group's inside jokes or what they are saying in voice chat in a different service like discord.

This feature will not be adoped by the comunity and will force people to stay in older versions of the game or use third party software, some breaking TOS, just out of fear of an overreaction from Mojang or Microsoft.

I am deeply concerned about the proposal for a centralised player reporting system. The number of Minecraft players is gigantic, so thousands of moderators would need to be hired for each submission to be efficiently and fairly judged. This is a huge cost, so I doubt so many people would be hired to do this - it would mean a huge number of unfair bans. Also, a moderator is not able to know the whole context, such as the type, community and content of the server. Solution: leave banning in the hands of those who know this context - the administrators of these servers. I suggest that an admin should have the option to subscribe to this centralized system if they do not want to do chat moderation themselves.

The content moderation is a dangerous addition. And isn't ready to be in minecraft Java edition

Mojang, although bedrock and Java are merging, everyone agrees that Java should stay as it is. It should be the servers choice if they want to have a report system. If you do get banned, it shouldn’t be global. Java has hundreds of thousands of servers, and if you get banned for saying something like “I’ll kill you” in terms of a PvP server, you get banned for literally nothing. And then if you get banned from your own single player worlds permanently, you have no more of Minecraft. You spent 27 dollars, just to go down the drain. Hopefully this won’t get implemented, or this could be the fall of Minecraft.

Reporting. Most people I have spoke to DO NOT want this. Like on java we have to pay and host our own servers and for the past decade server admins have done a pretty good job at enforcing their own rules. I can see this feature on realms because we do not own the servers we merely rent them out from Microsoft.  This will solve very few issues it will be a raindrop in an ocean.

Mojang, please listen to the community. This has been maybe one of the worts mistakes you have ever made, and you have probably heard this from countless other users. This is not right, not in Java not in Bedrock. It needs to be undone. Please, don't ruin this beautiful and successful game.

There are already false bans for bedrock, we don't need any on java, and first off, how are you going to moderate all the java servers that run some crappy server website like aternos??? There are hundreds, maybe even thousands. Mojang, you said in the java migration page, things will stay THE SAME. This doesn't seem like it's the same. I hope you see the amount of outrage the community is showing and realize that you haven't been listening to the community. It's like you're just ignoring us when we clearly are sending the signal; WE DON'T WANT THIS! Please Mojang, PLEASE, think on this. You have made false promises that will come back to bite you. just scroll this page and see.

Minecraft is one of the few games out there that gives the players total freedom and trusts the community to moderate itself. I love this game because there is absolutely nothing you can't do. You can install mods, create your own mods, change EVERYTHING about this game. Minecraft is what you make it out to be. It's a game that lets you choose the ending. It's a game that is now taking all of that away, just to appease parents who feel their child might be "unsafe" on multiplayer. This change is unimaginably easy to abuse, what with trolls and hackers using this feature as a weapon. If this feature is implemented how it is now it   will end in the downfall of Minecraft. The one compromise that could be made is that it only bans you from realms, not multiplayer. Minecraft Multiplayer is the epitome of freedom in the multiplayer video game space, and taking this away would limit the player to the point that I know many people would quit Minecraft altogether for the fear of getting banned for any stupid reason. Multiplayer keeps Minecraft fresh and alive, and having the fear of getting banned for saying one thing would make a significant part of this community quit. It takes the liveliness out of a game when anything you do can be turned against you. Anything you've said can be taken out of context. Anything you've ever done on can be analyzed and used against the player. I know Minecraft will inevitably die, but I hope that it won't die because of a foolish corporate decision.

Please do not add the chat reporting and moderation feature. This is a terrible idea! As a third party owner of a server we have successfully managed to moderate our own server for over 10 years now with no issue or need for interference from anyone else. Similarly I feel that if you have access to our chat logs you are breaching our rights under the GDPR. We have a right to privacy and we have a right to be able to play with our friends without worrying about being banned for absolutely no reason.

By adding this you will be removing what is considered a safe space for people to come to and have freedom to say whatever they want to without fear of losing their whole account.

Don't add this. We, as a community, don't want it! Trust us to do the job we have been doing for years now - moderating our own servers.

Worst feature EVER, I'd say 1.9 combat is way better than this. Mojang and Microsoft have obviously not heard of false bans. Please remove this feature for both bedrock and java servers have been moderating chat fine already they don't need this. And besides false bans the "impersonation" rule is going to destroy Minecraft's popularity as youtubers could easily get banned.

In my opinion is this system justified if the moderation is limited to only the most extreme and obvious cases of chat abuse, which judging by the report categories (terrrorism, hate speech, impersonation, child sexual abuse, ...) seems to be the focus, while more casual offences like swering should be left up to the 3rd party servers to regulate. If this is the case (as far as I understand it is), please communicate it accordingly. The main reason of concern in the community right now is the fear of false bans, which should happen extremely rarely if the moderation is only for extreme violations.

That beeing said, servers should still be given the possibility to opt out of the global moderation system altogether if they want to take moderation into their own hand. This could just be an option in the config file of the server, maybe even with a disclaimer before turning it of, but there should at least be the possibility.

Please face this problem, Minecraft should never be adding any types of chat reporting thing, I can slowly feel like you guys are trying to control the freedom and experiences that people enjoy about this game, this is why Minecraft is Minecraft, this chat report system is tearing this masterpiece into parts. Please remove the chat report system.

Again, chat reporting system is a terrible idea, No one, literally NO ONE wants to see this in the future of Minecraft, or, the future that doesn’t exist because of this system. Please reconsider and remove this immediately.

You people are ruining this game, alienating and disregarding your entire fanbase will not be worth your Blackrock score boost. This is following a trend of terrible management decisions stemming from your intense corporate greed. Other examples include postponing and limiting updates so you can squeeze more money out of your bedrock store. I hope you people learn one way or anyohet

while it may seem like a good idea its a stupid one because this can be abused to where a single person can ban hundreds if not thousands of people, and not only that due to this risk no body will want to use the chat because they can get reported for no reason, this is dangerous and not only that you said you were going to listen to the community's feedback, they did not wanted it yet you went with it, not only does this cause trouble for players, thousands will suffer this, they paid for the game to play in it like playing with friends but 1 "report" could prevent them from playing with friends because a player reported them for something that they did not even do, this is by far the worse decision Minecraft has ever made. like seriously I can get banned on my own server and can't play on it? this is NOT the Minecraft I know. like do you Realize the amount of damage 10 or 20 people could do? if you want to add something that is as dangerous as this? ATLEAST tell them what they said and Make the Appeal for the unban work properly if not Minecraft will Become Literally unplayable. who are you to control the moderation of servers? which you don't host. and are you even checking because I'm pretty sure you aren't because you clearly have not seen the amount of backlash the community has given and not a single person agrees with this change.

This is easily exploitable and I can see how hundreds if not thousands of players will lose their accounts if this is ever implemented.

Do not add chat reporting and account banning into the game.

please please just remove the atrocious chat profanity feature such features are unnecessary and will only cause more problems. As of now the community has its ways to deal with these.. besides banning the player just seems too unorthodox. something one can bypass easily with a different account, just to repeat this.. The last thing the community would want is for the singleplayer ban to be brought to Java. While this means innocent people could get banned with no way to get unbanned. players with malicious intent can simply continue.. Such a feature coming over to Java is disastrous. It would be great if this was just removed entirely from both the editions (its fine if its in education edition). IF NOT REMOVED THEN AT LEAST POLISHED SO THAT ITS USABLE

Please don't implement bans from all third party servers.

Some people could just be mass reported and then unable to play. And what about servers where there are no rules.

i think this is a flawed system. Please don't implement this!

if we pay for the server we are using and then typing a slur are we going to get banned from the server that WE are paying for like we dont neew chat moderation big servers have moderators, admins and plugins, useless feature its just going to make the game unplayable, you will have the fear of getting banned on a server that is already moderated
