Please remove this, listen to your community.
These are community run servers, they should have full control on their servers.

I cannot express just how horrendous of an idea it is to add multiplayer bans after a decade of servers handling it just fine. Very simply, there would be countless false bans and someone who left a bad comment on one server shouldn't be prevented from playing with their friends.

This feature would also be exceptionally easy to abuse and would create a massive problem with people and organizations targeting and blackmailing people, particularly the YouTubers Minecraft relies so heavily on, even today.

Then there are single-player bans, which are downright VILE. I'd love to have a word with whoever had that idea.

So please, for the love of all things good, fix this update before it causes unstoppable chaos at its release.

Please, for the love of the remaining Minecraft playerbase, do not add the feature of reporting players on java, this moderation will turn Java into a mess, and render Minecraft basically unplayable, since it will lose its community.

As many have said, a chat report system will be overall detrimental to the game. Bedrock has a terrible history with it as is (and it still does). This system will be abused. This can be seen on multiple platforms already, not just in bedrock. The community was doing fine moderating their own servers without your interference. Please, just let them opt out of it at least, and don't make the ban spread to all servers. Just find a middle ground if you must do this because of Microsoft. Don't let this report feature kill your game.

There are too many third party servers, and what would happen if some joke was made on a server between 2 friends and someone else got randomly offended(as everyone seems to be doing these years) and we get reported and banned? Besides there is way to many servers to moderate on Java(even on bedrock since services like Aternos let you make bedrock servers).
Moderation has been done very nicely by third parties for years and any attempt of global moderation has already been exploited and taken down, i just hope we won't have to resort to all running mods to avoid this clearly flawed system

    Could you like not ?
What's the reason for this ? - Moderation on Java ( and Minecraft in general ) has been always handled by the server staff, we as players don't need your help with it. We succesfully dealt with it for over 10 years.
The only thing this moderation feature allows is to falsly ban people by massreporting them.

It's just not  a good idea and not something the community wants, listen to your community !

I do not believe this is a good feature for multiple reasons that follow:
    1. There is always context, for example if you say I will kill you on a PVP based server, it is ok, but out of context it is not, this will cause false banning
    2. People have moderated their server just fine for a decade, there is no need for this
    3. In adult based servers, it is ok and it means they cannot exist
    4. Mass reporting clients already exist and a lot of the community will use it in retaliating, how will you deal with that
    5. You need proof to appeal and if most people dont have that, their will be a lot of false bans
Thanks for reading, I hope you get rid of this.

"My house, my rules." Chat reporting on private servers breaks Minecraft

The two things that have made minecraft java what it is fior the past 12 years are freedom and privacy. It seems that this chat reporting system is going completely against the spirit of the game. Furthermore, chat moderation is already enforced by the community on all servers that want it. Please remove this feature.

As a server owner myself, I can tell you right now that this will not help my server at all. Why should 3rd-Party servers which are hosted on different platforms (not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft) be moderated by people who will probably never join the server. Servers create a staff team for a reason, so they can enforce their servers own rules, they don’t need another type of reporting system added, as at the end of the day, it will ruin their server with people being false banned or even the server owner themselves being banned for no reason. So what I’m saying is, don’t add chat filter to Java servers, it will ruin the game. Let servers moderate their own chat, we don’t need other people to moderate it for us…

I think Microsoft should trust the players with moderating their own servers

It is impossible to know the entire context of a given text through this report system, and with it never will. You cannot know what the server is like, it's environment, the situation the player was in, and too many factors for this to be a thing.

Please don't begin to not listen to the community, Microsoft. We know how to react. :(

The report system can and WILL be used to report players who doesn't even deserved to be banned.
Servers already have rules and can ban and kick whoever they want, there is literally no reason for Mojang or Mircosoft to suddenly have a report system.

I know hackers are a thing, and they're really annoying. But you're literally giving them a weapon they can use on people they might dislike...

The categories are way too vague and too easy to give false report. It terrifies me seeing Mojang going down this path...

    Please, do not add this.

Kindly, please actually Listen to the players. Microsoft, you should know by now you aren't liked, but sure, you have Minecraft and there's nothing you can do. But even if you are only after money, do you not realize what you're doing is costing you future revenue. People will cancel their realms subscription, their minecoins buying, their friends will be on the fence about buying the game. And this isn't even for only the ones who need to be punished, this is for all of the people who play your game. False reporting is extremely easy, and this causes only more stress then safety in the servers. Java gas privately moderated servers, they pay for the server hosting, they should moderate on their own, and they do a great job at it. You should not be involved. If you continue this, you will only love money, there is literally no benefit in it for you, or the players. We all hate hare speech and we will weed it out on our own in our hate servers. So please think about your robotic black and white corporate decisions, because this is a dark gray solution to a very light gray "problem".

Please dont add chat reporting. We have our own admins and there are a lot of griefers on minecraft servers that would abuse this feature. I didnt want this kind of minecraft for a cape. I dont want you to make bedrock out of java. Please dont add this feature. Let the comunity servers decide what they want.
