As a small server owner I'd like to say that Mojang nor Microsoft should even have option to store and review our users chat logs.

That doesn't mean we reject moderation, we reject yours moderation. Minecraft community is strong and many times has proven that it can function on its own :)

Just get rid of the report feature for third-party servers (or add an option to disable it completely in the server.properties) and I would be happy.

This "Feature" is honestly an insult towards all the servers that already have a report and chat-monitoring feature in place, as now Big Daddy Mojang is taking over, handling reports the server owners don't even know of.

The only way I can see this feature work for in third-party servers is either the aforementioned toggle to enable/disable it, or an option to define your own e-mail address for where Reports should be send towards, because THEN could the server owner/team deal with the report properly. The current way could people get falsely reported (And I'm pretty sure the system will be partially automated where if a user gets X reports, they will be banned straight away until it's resolved) and banned because someone else fabricated things up.

At most could I see a Chat-ban, where you can't send messages whatsoever, but a full on ban from Realms and Multiplayer?! That is straight on bullying here!

So, tl;dr I dislike the report feature and it should be limited to your First-party services such as Realms, only!

Third-party servers have worked so far and would still work without this. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Ah, yes, a feature that will definitely not destroy the game.

    1) There will be no ban appeals? Because Moderators will never make any Mistake. And since Microsoft is definitely gonna hire enough people to read through days worth of chat logs, and definitely won't just use AI's. Yeah no the amount of false bans will be too big.

    2) Why moderate globally? Taking away control from server owners that have their own guidelines and policies. From what I've seen, moderation from those server owners has always been better. Especially since false bans will benefit Microsoft, as either they can sell Unbans or force people to buy a second account.

    3) No one even asked for this. Just leave this feature out, no one wants it.

Dont add the ban system all together, i can imagine people from the pvp community gets mad at a loss and decides to report the person that bested them, it will be carnage

Please revert back the reporting system.

This has too much risk of being used for griefing. Players should not be afraid to speak in chat.
    And it's morally wrong !

It should be up to the server. Microsoft needs to stop trying to destroy this game.

Deleting my comment won't stop me.

Third party hosted servers shouldn't be forced to deal with interference in how they moderate their space, if not removed, we should be allowed to opt out of this feature on our servers. Admins like myself, are all that third party servers need, real people part of the unique server's community. Not only is this a huge overstep, and blatant disregard for the communities we have built, by forcing us to work with an unwelcome system. It takes away the choices of Server Owners on how to run their servers, their private servers.

This is understandable with Realms, that is a space hosted specifically by Microsoft and Mojang. Privately hosted servers on third party sites should only be subject to the rules put in place by the hosting site, and the rules of the Server Owner. No one else, certainly not a system un-specialized for individual server needs.

Minecraft is not like Xbox Live, a universal ban will not work here because each server is its own environment. A blanket law will only result in unjust bans, and the destruction of communities.

Minecraft servers have been run by the community since their very creation, by a member of the community. To step in now after we have been self governing for over a decade, is not only an unwelcome change, but an invasive one that stands to be abused. We do not need your micromanaging, nor do we want it, keep your moderation to servers that Microsoft/Mojang hosts, and away from player run servers.

Chat reporting for third party services is a really bad idea in my opinion. Without the "very well trained" moderators knowing the context of a situation or the type of server people are on they can lead to false bans. Alongside this, a lot of players will probably abuse the system and in general get a lot of people falsely accused and banned.

There's also the fact that knowing how creative the Minecraft community is, people will definitively find a vulnerability in this system and abuse it even further, getting to ban anyone, even YouTubers or regular people.

In general, I feel like servers should had authority over moderation. Minecraft is not only a kids game Mojang. Many people from different ages plays this game and they should be allowed to maintain their own standards and rules by their own.
