This sounds like the best way to meet in the middle. It still warns players, meaning that Mojang/Microsoft are probably fine regarding legal issues, and they still get the feature. They could even set up a system to replace existing moderation plugins, with a GUI for moderators to view. I feel that Microsoft does not properly understand their demographic, it is not all kids. There are many people who play who are mature enough to moderate on their own and who do not want to get banned for making a sarcastic joke to close friends, which could be taken out of context by others. Please consider this recommendation.

The chat reporting in the current snapshots is also very broken. I saw somebody on youtube name a command block microsoft and use it to report the actual account microsoft.

just to add on to this as another option,

give server the option to "Allow banned players"  like another whitelist/black list that we already have.

i would like to say i had a "good exerience" when dealing similar companies (Microsoft in perticular)  / game ban appeals for eample Fortnight, League of Legends, Runescape etc, most of which on my brothers in which i'm his legal gaurdian, where you could log a complaint / appeal and hear absolutely nothing regarding your case.

all that the current system as is stands gain is to increase the amount of new accounts being created due to tickets being unresolved. while this is probably great from your perspective gaining additional sales.

in the long run it will only lead to a decline and popularity of the game as a whole. a few solutions are as follows.

    either

    A) Scape the whole glodal MP ban (Which i doubt will happen) Or B) Allow servers in some way to overrule global banning

    as Examples

    1) a Server properity  eg. AllowBannedPlayers = "True"

in which case a warning message would appear stating that the server is allowing banned accounts in some form

    2) as above as some sort of exemptions whitelist (as stated in the first paragapth that all games with this type of banning system face

as a endnote, being part of number Minecraft communities which i won't name for obvious reasons. have all been talking about ideas / work arrounds as they see such system as undermining their Authority policing their own servers

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" plain and simple. Minecraft has survived so long because of its community and the individual rights to create our own rules since there's such a wide player base. Simple fix: add a toggleable server opt-out function!

I don't agree with what Mojang is trying to add to the game, but honestly, simply having servers have the ability to choose whether or not they want Mojang breathing down their necks will go a long way in easing the tension created between Mojang and their community.

I have owned and operated servers on every possible piece of technology I have owned since Beta 1.8.

This is an outrageous over-stepping of moderated power for people who own servers. Mojang should not decide who is allowed to be on my server or not, nor should Mojang be allowed to steal telemetry data from my server-wide chat logs to ban my players globally.

Make this toggleable. I will not be updating to 1.19.1, or any subsequent version, until this is fixed.

Mojang has heard plenty of feedback about this. It's plain and simple needless corporate bureaucracy. THEY DON'T CARE. I as a private server host will actively remove these features using mods, since mojang is actively removing my ability to moderate on MY SERVER, THAT I PAY FOR. If I ever had thought about a realms subscription, kiss that thought goodbye Mojang. As a matter of fact in response to this change I'm actively turning Mojang authentication off ENTIRELY on my server, instead opting to use a private IP-Whitelist. Microsoft does not get to tell my friends and I how we get to play a game we paid for. Push comes to shove, we will find an alternative sandbox game.

I've been managing my own person server since 2011 and Microsoft this feels like you're torturing me for my dedication. Get out of my professional server. I paid for it, not you.

Some people liked the combat changes, but no one likes the reporting system.

Yeah, I really don't want to keep resorting to mods (although I mostly play only mods)!

I can't think of anywhere it actually makes sense to have Mojang chat reporting on. Realms? Invite only, you shouldn't invite someone you don't trust. 3rd party servers? Chat moderation is the job of server ops. LAN? You should know who is getting on. Console sharing (not Java)? You are literally sitting next to them, you can tell them to stop.

    Did I miss any?

Players also should be able to change it in settings (by default it should be off and option for chat reporting to be turned on) and if servers require it there should be information that they can turn it on or have chat disabled

I can’t believe that Mojang would allow your Minecraft copy to be effectively stolen if you get banned. On Bedrock, if you play Xbox or Switch, you can get banned from SINGLEPLAYER! Not only that, but you could also get banned from SINGLEPLAYER AND MULTIPLAYER PERMANENTLY! I shouldn’t have to worry about Mojang rendering the product I bought with my money unusable. It’s not even necessary because both of those features already have a built in report system! There’s no reason to add this to Bedrock edition in the first place!
