This idea is based off the Three Sisters method, which can be used to effectively grow corn, beans, and squash. First off, corn. Corn kernels can be planted of farmland, and grow into a plant made up of two parts: the stalk on the farmland, and an ear of corn just above. The ear can be broken, leaving the stalk behind. While the corn stalk is still planted, it can grow another ear. An ear of corn could be be eaten or crafted into corn kernels, which can be planted. Green beans would admittedly be a bit harder to implement. I’d say that beans could be planted as seeds and grow into a “bean vine” that functions similarly to a sweet berry bush, except once the beans are picked, they won’t grow back unless there’s either a corn stalk, vine, or ladder in a horizontally adjacent space. While being grown adjacent to other plants, beans would speed up the growth of those plants. Additionally, rabbits think that beans are very tasty, and will run up and steal them without remorse. As for the squash, I think that pumpkins could do just fine. The stalks should repel rabbits, so that they can’t attack any nearby beans. Using a pumpkin, corn kernels, green beans, and a bowl, you could craft Three Sisters Succotash, which is full of nutrients for adventuring players! This would add a lot of strategy to farming, and is a great way to honor the Iroquois of North America!
