At first, I thought I had messed something up and configured something incorrectly. Then I found this bug report. It honestly makes no sense to me why Mojang would change a feature like this.

So for now, we'll be playing on our server without achievements, and I'll be keeping my CurseForge project offline until this is resolved.

Eu tinha testado logo quando acordei e fui no meu mundo de 250 dias e a primeira coisa que reparei era o aviso "as conquistas estão desativadas", eu perdi tudo que eu fiz pois usei um mod de renderização...

You can get cheats locally without turning achievements off in java but the second bedrock gets anything it immediately “gets fixed”. What is this bro.

Made my modded 400 day hardcoreworld disable achievements.

I don't see it as fair. My hardcore world of 981 days now disallows achievements because I had a visual pack on? That's crazy to even think about.

I agree with that, they've been offering this feature for a year, and now suddenly canceling it again, clearly no one is going to be happy with this move.

    Everybody know
Effort certainly doesn't compare to your laziness. Why would you do this when people spend days and effort interacting with the world? It's a very bad and careless act. Even if people protest, you won't listen anyway. Yes, I should just be an ordinary person. You never listen to anything. The players aren't to your liking, are they? Yeah, you guys are being lazy. You keep trying to push the e-commerce system, but everyone knows it will never end. Free game add-on to p2w

This could be fixed so external add-on files could get Mojang's approval first before they allow achievement enabling, as a compromise.

Addons that are like a creative mode enabler addon would disable achievements, while addons that are like just adding to world visuals would probably leave achievements enabled.

This change breaks survival addons that only use stable @minecraft/server scripts.
Pure survival quality-of-life packs (attack cooldown, quality of life tweaks) are now marked as external behavior packs and disable achievements.
These packs do not add cheats, experimental APIs or creative advantages.
Please consider reverting this retroactive achievement lock for non-experimental stable script addons.

I have a long-term survival world with over 200 in-game days. I only used stable API quality-of-life behavior packs such as attack cooldown, which bring no unfair cheating advantages.
After updating to 26.50, my world was retroactively marked as disabled achievements. All my achievement progress in this long-built survival world is lost.
Please separate cheat packs from harmless QoL addons. Do not lock achievements retroactively for worlds using only stable API addons. Thank you.

Many third-party addons do not break game balance at all.

Some are only simple quality-of-life tweaks using stable APIs, such as attack cooldown adjustment.

They bring no unfair advantages or cheat functions.

The current change locks achievements retroactively for these harmless packs, which ruins long-time survival worlds.

Please consider distinguishing cheat addons from innocent QoL packs instead of using a one-size-fits-all rule.

I really hope this gets reverted. A lot of third-party add ons are just for QoL, visuals, or making the game more fun.. They don’t give us an unfair advantage. It sucks that achievements are disabled just because we use them. Please bring back achievement-friendly add-ons.

Please revert this change, my world with 450+ days is not useless because I can't earn achievements because I added a behaviour pack. I was not even given the warning that achievements will be disabled. :(

The behaviour pack I used was not even a cheaty one it was just to show chunk boarders so i can build a redstone farm

This is unfair. My Inventory sorter behavior helps sort items in chests. Now that warrants disabling achievements? Nah.... Mojang need to revert this or allow some sort of a vetting process.

Ignoring the fact that they actually did that, they didn't even give a warning for us to maybe remove the mods.

For example, I had a behaviour pack to see my armour durability in singleplayer, and it doesn't even affect the gameplay. I could've at least removed it if I had a warning.

I had my world of 3879 days, with behavior that only improved performance, and now I lost all the achievements for a change that no one warned about, they could have warned to give time to remove The behaviors, but instead, they released a new version, with this change, of which no one knew anything... If in Java they can play with tricks without losing achievements, and with mods without losing achievements, why do they take that away from Bedrock's after almost a year of active achievements? Bring the achievements back to Bedrock!

    This is the biggest fumble,
They have literally got addon in the marketplace that give an unfair advantage but then when there an addon that is 3rd party that does the opposite that's considered a "Exploit". They need to revert this completely. Cant just remove a feature that has been out for  year and tell the reason being its considered an exploit .

This change without warning was a bad move. I had mob heads as an addon and now lost achievements on 1500 day world.

As a third-party add-on developer and realm subscriber, I think either all behavior packs should disable achievements, including Marketplace add-ons, or they revert this change to how it has been with the product type in the manifest. A third option would be to allow a toggle under world creation to enable achievements.

I believe it is unfair to gatekeep this feature to just Marketplace creators as the barrier to entry is too high and reeks of ivory-tower mentality.

To give Marketplace creators preferential treatment feels out of touch with the add-on community, a community the devs have been increasingly supportive of and dependent on for feedback of upcoming features.

There's been so many features added to script-api this year that allow realm owners and admins to manage players and track statistics, features that aren't practical to do with just command blocks, which have been neglected for quite some time.

It would be a shame to lose access to achievements for simply wanting to provide my players with proper admin moderation and a better gaming experience.

All this does is make it so that legit players have to pay the consequences for those who are just going to cheese achievements in other ways

It's bad enough that they gatekeep achievements to realms and not servers but this is crazy

Please revert this absolutely infuriating change. I’ve been using Bedrock add-ons since 2022, and for most of that time achievements and add-ons did not coexist. When Mojang finally made achievements work with add-ons, I was under the impression that this was a permanent or at least semi-permanent solution, not some temporary “exploit” that would be quietly ripped away later.

Calling it an exploit now is insulting. Third-party add-ons are not automatically cheat packs. They can be QoL, visual, technical, accessibility, server content, or normal gameplay additions. Disabling achievements simply because an external behavior pack exists is an absurd blanket restriction that punishes every creator and player regardless of what the add-on actually does.

My forever world is caught in this mess too. I kept using that world believing achievement support was legitimate and intended. Now I’m going to have to NBT-edit the world back because Mojang decided after the fact that the feature I relied on was apparently an “exploit.”

And Marketplace add-ons still being exempt makes this even harder to defend. If add-ons supposedly invalidate achievements, why are paid Marketplace add-ons treated differently?

Either restore achievements for third-party add-ons or give us a clear supported opt-in system. Stop retroactively breaking existing worlds and treating third-party creators like second-class users.

I don't really get why mojang in the first place had the audacity to block achievements on 3rd party addons. sure they have their reasons but how is a java saturaturion regen and an ender pearl chunk loader addon have to be breaking the core game?

I mean those features should had been in bedrock for better quality of life

The reason third party add-ons disabling achievements is because most of them need experimental features to work!

for me every add-on should have a "vanilla friendly" classification, if the add-on it's all decorative blocks, visuals, performance or in general doesn't interfere with the vanilla progression this would have the tag visible "Vanilla Friendly".
This is something that a external team should do, not the creator of the add-on (to be fair).

Something like "Looky Tool" shouldn't be "vanilla friendly" even if it is promoted like a free add-on by Microsoft himself.

They have the money to hire a professional programmer or an intern to double check this before an update. But they choose to let the money go on Theme Parks on London (not anyone could go there) and Minecraft Movies (which the first Minecraft is a slop personally cause i hate real actor, and animated square is better idea). Like, please just change the director or make Notch principle in Minecraft be pinned up into the pinboard. Cause this could be fixed in a second, so you better fix it TOMORROW!

I've spent alot of money developing my own addons for survival and keeping achievements enabled. I play solo survival, so there's no unfair advantage. Also, the requirement of having all necessary addons installed by each player before joining a world would resolve that.
