Minecraft 1.8.9+ with Modern Features and Server APIs

I would like to suggest an official Minecraft 1.8.9+ update.

The goal is not to replace modern Minecraft or split the community. Instead, it would modernize the classic 1.8.9 experience while preserving the gameplay and performance that many players still enjoy today.

Suggested features:

  • Keep the classic 1.8.9 combat and gameplay.
  • Improve performance and compatibility with modern operating systems.
  • Add Hex color support for chat, scoreboards, teams, and UI.
  • Improve Resource Pack support with more customization options.
  • Add a modern Server API for developers.
  • Add new decorative blocks and building assets for map creators.
  • Add quality-of-life improvements without changing the classic gameplay.

Many PvP servers still use Minecraft 1.8.9 because of its smooth combat and excellent performance. An official 1.8.9+ update would give this community a modern, supported platform while preserving what makes 1.8.9 special.

    Exactly what the game needs, yet another codebase to divide the community to support a combat system that is hopelessly outdated and extremely limited. You guys could always just update yknow? If the cooldowns are really that bad to deal with you can just remove them.

    Also what "smooth combat"? you mean bind left click to scrollwheel and win every encounter i enter? Thats what we used to do. Now theres potions to buff and debuff, shields to block, a plethra of arrows and a bunch of new weapons. You are asking to hold back literally everyone else because you refuse to admit that your system is just worse.
