The newly introduced Dappled Forest is a good idea, but the community is already expressing a clear opinion: the weathered gray poplar wood feels too much like Pale Oak. Following closely after the Pale Garden update, this muted gray wood set is quickly being called a "Pale Oak knockoff." It lacks a unique identity and lessens the thrill of finding a new tree type.
The Solution: Use Real-Life Poplar Color!
In reality, poplar trees are known for their distinct pale green, olive, or sage-colored heartwood found in the center of the logs.
Instead of forcing a dull gray look into a vibrant autumn Overworld biome, Mojang should embrace this botanical fact and give Poplar wood a subtle, earthy pale green shade.
Why This Fits Perfectly into Minecraft:
- Completes the Color Palette: Minecraft builders have wanted a terrestrial green wood set for years. We have alien teal (Warped), rich red (Crimson), and warm orange (Acacia), but a soft, natural pale green is the key missing piece on the color wheel.
- Instant Identity: Adding a light sage or olive-green tint to the planks and stripped logs removes the "Pale Oak 2.0" complaints. This change gives the Dappled Forest a highly sought-after, unique reward that builders will eagerly search for.
Please consider adjusting the texture color before the official release! Let's make Poplar wood stand out as the unique, earthy block it was meant to be.
