Turquoise has a big history within the Sonoran desert region, existing in large deposits and mines, and being heavily used as currency and being exalted by some of the most prominent Native American cultures in the region. I mentioned turquoise in my other posts deriving biome, structure, and item inspiration from my home of Arizona and the larger Sonora desert region, but I wanted to ensure that the idea of a Turquoise ore/gem was discussed in the proper category. I mentioned that turquoise could be introduced as a new resource found within adobe pueblo ruins, via chests or archeology, or generated as ore with the badlands and my other proposed Sonoran inspired biomes, blue mesa/petrified forest and desert shrublands. Among Sonoran Native American cultures, the Zuni have a rich history with turquoise: mining it, using it as currency, crafting intricate jewelry, and applying spiritual importance. This can potentially set up turquoise as tiled mosaic themed decorative block, a trim material, a jewelry based armor set, a substitute trade currency, or a magical resource with connections to life, the sky, earth, and rain. I know blocks like prismarine and oxidized copper have turquoise adjacent hues so any potential implementation would likely skew more towards the light blue spectrum of turquoise to differentiate perhaps with greater saturation and smoothness as well.
