I agree, I think it'd be a cool idea to add archeology to the Nether!

We know that the Nether has had a complicated history. Ancient debris are the remnants of an ancient piglin civilization overexploiting the naturally occurring netherite ore found in the Nether. The bony remains of ancient extinct creatures litter the Soul Sand Valleys with Overworld skeletons. Nether fortresses, built completely differently than the bastions that house piglins, sit practically abandoned, guarded by the blazes that (speculatively) destroyed their creators and haunted by wither skeletons. Iron used to be a more accessible resource in the Nether, evidenced by the presence of iron ingots and nuggets in chest loot for ruined bastions and nether fortresses, the decorative chains that ruined bastions are outfitted with, and the crossbows that piglins use!

That's pretty much to say, the Nether used to be a very different place a long time ago, much like the Overworld and (possibly) the End used to be. Now that the Minecraft team is developing features for players to explore the distant past of the Overworld, I think it would be a good idea to be able to explore the Nether's history as well!

Who knows, perhaps the Nether dimension itself underwent catastrophic changes in climate and available resources way before the events of MC Legends, like how Mars has has lots of evidence for liquid water flowing on its surface in ancient history, such as channel flow features and water-produced rock formations.
