Same Here, I start a new survival world every time a major update comes out. I like to keep my old worlds around but when I explore more of my current world, the game will tell me out of space. I have a 400GB micro SD card, and only two gigabytes is ridiculous.

The 1.18 update has now made this a big problem on Switch. I can't upgrade my world because of this limit so now my world is bricked and there's no rolling the update back... I only have the ONE world on bedrock, it's ridiculous and I'm flaming mad

Same here. The 2GB limit is ABSURD.

My kid found a world they wanted on marketplace. That world is like 800mb and we can't download it because of this incredibly stupid 2gb limit. I have a 512gb micro sd card. It should be up to me how much space of that card I want to use. Most switch games take up more than 2gb, Minecraft please get with Nintendo and fix this.

I find it annoying that Fortnite can hold 21.3 GB upon downloading but Minecraft is only allowed 2 GB on a Nintendo Switch. Please fix this issue!!! My son LOVES Minecraft more than any other game and he is starting to dislike playing because of the limitations on storage. He gets extremely excited when he purchases mods on the marketplace just to be let down when he can't download them. He will soon be obligated to choose to find a new game that he can play without limitations.

Pretty ridiculous when some of the texture packs are 500mb…
I purchased Kingdoms and to be able to use it, so I didn’t just throw away $10, I had to remove a handful of old worlds and a bunch of addons…

I downloded a mod resource pack that my sons were super excited about only for my switch not to let me downlode it because of this stupid 2gb limit for Minecraft... So there is 20 dollars down the drain

This is a duplicate of this one made in 2019, but I wholeheartedly agree!

I just bought minecraft for my Nintendo switch, I've been wanting to start trying to play with my kids. after downloading a couple of free worlds it says I am out of storage, yet my SD card says I have 100GB free. really kind of bummed out about this. had i known there was a restriction I would have saved my $35. I assumed I could use as much as my SD card would allow

This is still an issue in 2026, please stop throttling my underpowered switch arbitrarily with no recourse. I have 300GB available but have to manage storage constantly and redownload every time I want to use a different world or add on and risk deleting the wrong things. If I try to play different worlds with different packs without going through this in-depth deletion process the game becomes so slow it’s unplayable. Please determine storage capacity based on the device’s actual capacity!
