How it works
When the player is inside an enclosed, well-lit space with walls, a roof, and a door, the game detects it as a house.
Comfort System
Decorating your home with carpets, shelves, beds, bookshelves, plants, and other items increases your comfort level.
Higher comfort gives small positive effects like:
Reduced Hunger Drain
Strength
Regeneration
Once the player has these effects, they last forever if they are in their home but once they leave it the effects will go away after a certain amount of time.
But you can’t spam the same decoration as you'll need variety to increase comfort.
Pets
Pets inside your home increase comfort too.
They can wander around the house if the player allows it, making the home feel alive.
Home Raids
If the player drinks an Ominous Bottle inside their home, a special home raid begins.
Evokers are replaced with the Illusioner, which drops a new unique item when defeated.
New Foods
Players can cook new foods like stews using different meats and vegetables, giving more depth to survival food.
Why I think this update matters
This update makes your home more useful than just a place to put your bed, workstations, and chests. As it becomes a place that feels alive and rewards you for creativity.
