Iβve been thinking about a way to remove β or at least partially eliminate β the Nether ceiling.
What if there was a new Nether biome called βThe Abyssβ?
It would be a dark, black biome made of ash blocks, with charred roots, fallen burnt trees (black wood), and a dense smoky atmosphere.
Instead of life, it would feel like the memory of something that once burned β quiet, empty, and endless.
But the most important part wouldnβt be its look β it would be its structure.
In the Abyss, both the top and bottom of the world would have only one or two layers of blocks before reaching the bedrock, creating a massive open vertical space between them.
This would make it perfect for large-scale farms, Redstone builds, or creative megabases.
To keep the gameplay balanced, the blocks that make up the Abyss could be half blocks, meaning no mobs would naturally spawn on them.
Only the blocks you manually place would allow mob spawning.
Each variant of the Abyss could feature different mob spawn types, so players could build specific farms depending on which type of Abyss they find.
The Abyss would be a technical and aesthetic paradise β endless, dark, and made for creativity.
Imagine walking through a landscape of ashes and black roots, with lava glowing far below and infinite space above you.
Thatβs The Abyss: the Nether without limits. π₯
