This idea is simple. Allow stairs to retain their corner status after adjacent stair blocks have been destroyed. I think this would create a lot of new opportunities for builders (table legs, floor patterns, better sculptural detail, etc.), and seems like it would be relatively simple to implement.
As it is currently, to make a stair block into a corner, you have to have another stair block adjacent to it, and if that stair block gets broken, the stair reverts back to the default. To me, it seems like it would be a simple matter of deleting the reversion process. I assume this is a quality of life feature for people who accidentally place a stair that they didn't mean to, but if that were the case they could just break the original stair and replace it to revert it back to the default state.
