Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

You could add an obsidian box surrounding the main part of the base so it can have the decorative blocks on the outside but when the person with bad tools gets closer to the main area, they will stopped by the obsidian box.

Reinforcing blocks could be a nice way of rewarding players who are end game by letting us reinforce select refurbished block variants (Block variants like Stone bricks, Obsidian, Nether bricks, etc.) and protecting our builds better from griefing.

Many players complain that it takes them hours to build but only seconds to have it all come down. This could help balance that in favor of builders if you put in the work to reinforce your blocks. It also gives us a end goal to work toward of making our entire bases safer by making everything more reinforced.

I like the general concept of this, but I think it needs a bit of expanding upon, particularly the Why, What and How.
Why: you touched on this a bit, but some people might say "make an adventure map if you don't want people breaking things". To which I say: Its not necessary to make things indestructible, just more durable. What's the point of being able to design complex labyrinth/dungeon if it can just be mined through in a fraction of the time it would take to solve? Pregen structures could even benefit from this.
What: While some suggest modifying blocks in inventory with tables, this just seems like it would result in a lot of unnecessary "new blocks" cluttering up inventories and the creative menu. It would also make construction more difficult when you accidentally misplace a block. Instead, why not make the "reinforcements" a consumable item that you apply to an already existing block.
How: How is a bit more complex. Ideally you could apply the reinforcement to each individual block face, but that could be more difficult to implement. Having the upgrade behave like vines could be the easiest method, but that would prevent you from placing anything in the space the "reinforcement" occupies. Entities would get around this, but those already result in performance issues as it is. It could be applied to the block as a tag, but 6 tags may end up being too tedious, which leaves us it one tag applied to the whole block, this tag would clear on block breaking to keep it clean.
