I disagree with the extra row part. I think Netherite shulker boxes should be pushable by pistons, and be blast resistant, and have the normal properties of Netherite.

I had this exact idea aswell. Makes item sorters and such available to construct in the Nether aswell!

it should be a shulker surrounded by netherite ingots in the crafting table to make it balanced

we need this because if you have netherite stuff in a shulker box then it will burn

Put a netherite ingot in a top and in the bottom

This is one thing I was thinking of

It's inventory should stay the same, but otherwise yeah! I think it would be really cool! It would require 2 ingots of netherite, a shulker box, and a crafting table. Put the shulker in the middle, the 2 ingots on the top and bottom, then bam! Netherite shulker box! An unburnable source of inventory space.

Only draw back is you can't dye it anymore, and it would take a while to make. But hey, that's what makes it such an amazing utility to aquire.

Strongly agree. I think it should be made with a netherite ingot and a shulker box on a smithing table. It would have 36 slots of inventory and would retain color and items during upgrading. It also could be dyed.  When thrown into lava,it would retain anything inside it and would float.

I honestly like it better if kept simple.
No dyeing, no extra inventory space. A simple inventory improvement and also a netherite sink.

Also, since it both floats in, is pushed by and resists lava it doesn’t need to be pushable by pistons, because lava channels could transport it.

I think the extra row of slots is actually a good idea and not op. The reason is, that when you get to a point in the game where you have both shulkerboxes and free netherite ingots to use on them, you are likely past the survivle aspect of the game and instead you are building or creating farms. At that point I think players would appreciate easier inventory management which extra space in the shulker boxes would bring. I would be fine even with full "double chest" space. Also, given how difficult is to get netherite ingots you would still likely have only very few such shulkers.

One more important aspect of this idea that is worth mentioning is that if netherite shulkerboxes would have different texture and could have all 16 colors as well, this would give you twice as many different icons in inventory to quickly find the box you need.

And to not make it too OP, it could cost a netherite block instead of a single ingot

Came here to post the same thing after losing my toolbox twice (to a bed explosion and then to a ghast). Another feature I'd suggest is much higher blast resistance; this would make sense as ancient debris and netherite blocks both have high blast resistances.

This is a great idea that I have thought of many times. Although, I believe that because of the extreme usefulness of this when mining (especially for netherite) I believe that rather than a row of storage being added, a row should be taken away; this would help to limit the 'overpoweredness' of the item.

I would be OK with this just making the box fireproof. It doesn't need more space, nor does it need to be able to float. (i.e. if it falls into lava or you die in a sea of lava you are just going to have to dive in and get it) I would, however, like to see dye options added in so that after it's been made black with netherite you can change it to any color you have dyes for.

Yes We need this netherite shulkerbox. It will come in so handy just being able to throw it in lava and having it run down into a lava stream is amazing. It should Have the regular shulker box storage space(no more no less). The netherite shulkerbox should be as immune to explosions as obsidian or a netherite block. The crafting recipe should be a shulker box surrounded by 8 netherite ingots. It should take take the same amount of time to break the netherite shulker box with your pickaxe as a normal one.

if anything it would have less space. Although i think it should only cost one ingot in the smithing table

maybe you have to add the netherite like how you upgrade diamond stuff?

Imo it is important to consider the context of this feature. Minecraft, as I see it, has multiple stages where the type of game it is changes.

    - It starts as a survival
    - Then it becomes an adventure when you gather all the tools, fight the mobs, visit all the dimension and finally slay the dragon
    - And last part is the end game, where it becomes more of a creative game - building amazing builds or farms

To me both Netherite & Shulker boxes are end games items - especially when combined. Why is that important? Because at this point of the game, losing your materials in lava or having a creeper destroy your shulker chest monster is more of a frustration than anything else.

To keep consistent with other netherite items netherite shulker boxes should:
    - Survive & float in lava
    - Have high blast resistance (at least to survive a creeper explosion)
    - Cost 1 netherite ingot in smithing table (the feature should be balanced so 1 ingot makes sense, not the other way around)

In addition I would be strongly in favor of them to be also dyable - this would be huge, as it would allow you to have two shulker boxes of the same color with different icon (so you can have e.g. one normal green shulker for plants and 1 netherite green shulker for green blocks, or one for redstone and one for red blocks etc.)

As for the inventory, imo it should remain the same as normal shulker box - otherwise it would be difficult to design redstone systems that would work with both.

I would preffer it only to have float on lava option, just to avoid losing items

This would be awesome. No need for extra inventory, just being able to protect stuff from lava when doing something dangerous is enough, hell you could even reduce the inventory amount and it would still be ablessing. Also does not need to be dyeable. Adding to this, a netherite laced bundle would also be cool!

yes, we need it, a netherite lava-proof storage which can't be both destroyed by a creeper or by lava >:3
