As someone who was (and still is) miffed to find out that Minecraft PE will not work with Google Cardboard (w/wireless controller, natch) and someone who just received his Oculus Quest today: YES, PLEASE!!

I think it would be great if they did port it over officially. I have played both the sideloaded gear vr version on Quest and I have played the vivecraft mod on the HTC Vive. If I wanted one or the other to be ported I would want to have the HTC vive craft controls rooted over because the immersion is great! You can actually hold your pickaxe and mine blocks instead of using a game pad and clicking a trigger. Feel more immersed when your fighting a zombie with your sword or eating when you actually put the food to your mouth. If you haven’t seen gameplay of the vivecraft mod I highly recommend you check it out it’s a great time and I’m hoping it gets ported!

Already I have been asked about Quest Minecraft when showing friends. I'd say about 75% of my 'gamer' friends ask. Having Minecraft on the Quest would bring the most popular game ever to one of the most burgeoning industries, not to mention one of the most ambitious mediums. To top this off, the Quest is also the most accessible 6DoF headset.

    It just makes sense.

I feel like a full 6dof hand presence Minecraft on the go would be amazing! I already play Minecraft on my rift but I’m hardly home, if it came to the quest i would be able to play it a lot more

This would be amazing. Plain and simple the quest is the most convenient and enjoyable bet device on the market. Minecraft is a very relaxing and enjoyable game and it would be amazing to be able to play it on the quest. Also, specs can’t be a problem. Minecraft is a very low spec game and it would run great.

As a Minecraft Mentor for Education, I REALLY hope this comes to Quest so the Education Team can also port their version. We have a Quest here at our school and use Minecraft Education pretty regularly. Would really blow our students' minds to be able to walk around in their own creations.

I agree! Minecraft is a classic game that I’d absolutely LOVE playing in vr! Especially without any wires holding me back!

I would love to have this on my Quest. I sideloaded the GearVR version and it's amazing, but I would LOVE to be able to use the Oculud Touch controllers. We need this. I would easily pay $30+ :)

This is perfect! Oculus desperetly needs to add a game like minecraft to it's store as it lacks a game players can sink hundreds of hours in. Minecraft also desperetly needs VR as it has become stale. The new updates bring more playability and more possibility but it's still the same old game under all of the shiny new stuff added. VR brings new life to a game and makes it feel exciting and more immersiv which is just what Minecraft needs. Bith companies stand to gain from this.

Well they wanted Minecraft to be cross platform so this should be a no brainer! I have a few friends considering buying Oculus quests to play Minecraft with me the on the rift. It was on the Gear Vr so the quest should run it with ease!

Yes because there is huge opportunity with virtual reality. As virtual reality devices continue to be reduced in price, the demand for them will theoretically grow. Because Minecraft is such a well-known game, it would be easily bought and used among the masses new to VR. The Oculus Quest is a relatively cheaper version of VR compared to the Rift and Vive. It would be a missed opportunity if it were not to go onto the Quest. I would recommend investing a game in the Oculus Quest and PSVR.

This would be amazing. It would bring opportunities to my children to enjoy VR also. Not only that, it brings a new player base to both the game and the platform. This really should happen

I'd buy a Quest version that allows you to play with touch controllers.

It would be much more beneficial for both parties, Microsoft and players, to add Minecraft to the oculus quest. Most players who want to play Minecraft on the quest can already do so buy sideloading the apk or streaming through alvr. This is bad for both the players and Microsoft because the controls aren’t optimized and the whole overall experience is worse and Microsoft doesn’t get money for a purchase. If they did support it it would not be difficult at all as it is already supported on the gear vr meaning for little effort they could make more money and we can have a better experience!

I absolutely agree, my son would die. We have it on rift, so this would be an amazing thing. Please make this, regardless of how many people actually take the time to vote!

This would be great. Combined with DLC that is shared within a family this is the next big thing for Minecraft.

We would all get VR glasses (Oculus Quest) and meet in a real 6Dof Minecraft world.

Making use of the controllers of the Quest would add more reality than ever. Although for Oculus Go users there could be a simpler interaction way or/and use a controller.

Ojang/MS please give us A update on what the plans are for this and if there is a timeframe for dev/release.

    Thanks

I totally agree, entering the world of Minecraft in VR, you've known and loved for such a long time really has a unique magical feel to it and would definitely sell very well on the Quest (with a normal price), as it is so highly accessible.

I agree, Quest users should be able to have fun with this, being free in the Minecraft World would be awesome, and at no graphical issue because of how simple the game is.

Having such a great game to come to Oculus Quest would open Minecraft VR to people who don't want to buy a whole room-scale VR headset, the Quest could be a great opportunity to show Minecraft to people who just got the Quest instead of a PC or Phone! And since it's so easy to share, it could be great for showing friends! I would say, this would be a great thing! And look, Minecraft can run on basically anything! The Quest's hardware doesn't seem like a limitation for Minecraft.

One of the things that got me into VR was watching others play VR Minecraft. I loove my Quest but if Minecraft was added I would be ten times happier. Please! If the Gear VR can support Minecraft, the Oculus Quest can too.
