You can place a copy of a locator map in an item frame and it will show as another player.

As far as I know, you can't name them though. And I believe it only works in the overworld.

I definitely agree that they should add Java style Map Markers.

Yes, would really like to see that added soon. Such a small but useful feature. These little features make me never leave Java but I'm looking foward to Bedrock as they end the parity thing.

I agree times ten. When your thing is survival in realms, being able to label places adds significant value to the world. We have half a dozen players in our realm exploring and building, and it would help to be able to see these markers, so you can find the new places people are building or indicating, such as outposts.

In fact I’d add another feature: if Redstone torches were able to designate paths, you could even have your roads and rails form roads on the maps.

When you’re into exploring and developing survival worlds, these are must-have features!

I’ve been waiting for this feature on bedrock for more then over a year. Me and my brothers are building a lot of small towns in our world and would be nice to not forget where they all are. I’m a bit sick of writing all the coordinates down

Please make this a thing soon. I play with my kids and it would be so much easier on them to have markers on the maps showing where bases and such are. Our world spans multiple lvl4 maps and they're always getting confused on where stuff is.

I spent over an hour trying to get this to work on my Realm, come to realize this very same thing. My friends and I REALLY want to use this feature on our Bedrock Realm, although it looks like many people have already been waiting for a year on it. Hoping it comes soon, we love our Realm!

I've been so patient waiting for 1.13.0 and now that it's here, I'm still disappointed that this feature, this very -necessary- feature for multiplayer games, isn't in it.

We need banner markers, please. Minecraft is a vast universe, and players can be afraid to wander away from their home/creations in survival if they can't ever find themselves the way back. Sure, you can always take down the coordinates, but I've always felt like it was cheating in a way personally.

A visual representation of home, something cool someone made and added to the map, a location of a bandit tower to attack later, a cool looking cave. We need banner markers! Let the scouts in us scout!

It was awesome that brought the item frames on horizontal surfaces, but now please allow for the use of banners to mark maps!

Would really like to see this on bedrock sooner rather than later. Having to display markers on your maps with cloned maps is such a pain, not to mention there's no way to label anything. Let's introduce banners!

Markers on Bedrock Maps would be very helpful to our kids and their friends playing on Windows 10 Minecraft.

This is much needed for someone who plays one world and builds it up for years.

This would help with making maps more useful. It should be the primary update to our ability to interact with maps and make our worlds feel more lived in.

I thought this would be one of the first updates they would do since the world is gigantic. started Minecraft a few weeks ago and I'm in love. My friend got a realm and now I'm trying to explore everything on the map, I found out online you can mark maps but it isn't a feature in this version and was disappointed and frustrated. I hope they add this update soon as this seems like a key feature to people creating their giant worlds and carving them out. I've spent so much time just trying to find spots on the map, going to place the map in a frame for now but the banners with the name are better in my opinion. plus the color coding works well.

I would love to be able to see banner designs on the map to mark different villages or special locations. Exploring and remembering stuff would be easier and building custom villages around the map would be more fun if we could put the name on the map.

With the new bedrock beta (java parity) this still wasn't listed as a feature coming. Is there any other way to boost this suggestion so it's considered?

This feature needs to be in Bedrock! Lets hope they add it in the parity update. We need to vote on this more to get their attention so this feature can be added to the parity list. Good Idea!

I agree completely!! It is so frustrating not to be able to mark and label maps in Bedrock. PLEASE include this in the parity update/1.16 nether update.

Everything I wanted to say has been covered in the comments but I want our voices heard!

I'm 20 maps into large 1/4 map wall containing 90 item frames for our realm, but once I learned I couldn't truly label them the way they can in Java I kinda lost my motivation. I'm going to continue just so it can be done, as everyone is counting on me to finish it, but I do it with a sigh knowing it can't be as great as I expected it to be.

    Please make this happen Mojang!

We have run into an issue in our realm of accidentally building too close to an area claimed by someone else and it has actually caused a few disputes. It would be so easy to avoid this if we could mark bases and borders on our large world map with banners.

Aside from being practical, we each claimed a "kingdom" when we joined the realm and it would be cool to have a banner for each kingdom.
