This will help out or realms world greatly. Was soooo excited to make a giant map system for our realm once I had learned from youtube that you could make markers...then I found out it wasn't on bedrock and plans were ruined. Hope this changes soon

That would be nice to have. I hate having Locator maps used up because that means they have to stay in the world. And that can cause lag if you are the type that wants to have cave entrances, villages, ruins, monuments, ravines, mansions, portals, etc. tagged. And here it is, 2021 with no update about it. Atleast they are giving us Caves and Cliffs.

It's such a useful feature. I want it to mark amethyst geodes. It's disappointing it isn't included in Bedrock Edition.

Please can we have this in any soon update Mojang! Especially with you redoing the new world generation, being able to label biomes and other points of interest is going to be critical for all of the bedrock players. I have a notebook I have to use if I want to play Minecraft because there is no way to record where something is. I have to look at my maps, see what direction I'm heading then go through my notebook to find the coords and get out there safely. It really needs work. Even just allowing us to rename the maps and have the name of the map show up would be helpful beyond belief. Thank you!

It would be very useful as when I play in my worlds some games like empires at war a server me and my friends made on a realm in bedrock edition we really wanted to mark our places of where our empire is we realised that it couldn’t work in bedrock but in Java.We keep on having to mark our coordinates of each other’s areas so please Mojang add this Java parity to bedrock in the 2nd part of the caves and cliffs update plz.

Has there been an update on this? I'd like to see it in the caves and cliffs update in late 2021 :)

I heard about this feature and I really want to see it in bedrock! As someone who constantly forgets where my home is and is always having trouble remembering where important resorces are I would absolutely love to be able to use this!

I'd love to add map markers so we can more easily spot areas we have been to and that we want to come back to. It adds a bit more life to the game and creativity.

Please add this feature in 1.18. I'm looking forward to being able to mark the position of all my creations in my map room.

This is a must. The current bedrock implementation is so useless given you can’t label them or at the bare minimum change the colour so you could label them with signs around the map.

Map markers are a pretty basic feature/idea. I'm new to minecraft, and started playing with my daughter, and I was disappointed that a game like 7 Days to Die, has better map functionality than minecraft. Even with cartography tables, and paper, and blank maps, and banners, and all of those items, to not to be able to add simple markers to the map... come on Microsoft.

This is such an incredible no brainer to include the banner waypoints in Bedrock that it is kind of ridiculous that it hasn't been done yet. It would be so incredibly helpful in playin in realms with other people. Marking locations where you found monuments etc. Lets please get this feature added in a new update!!!!!!

Apparently it is of no use asking the defs if the could implement this already since there is no indication that one of them looked in here for the last (nearly) three years. Maybe another approch helps because i don't believe the defs ever looking in those smaller feedback posts. I challenge them to at least look in here give a reply in why this wasn't added already, because it realy is a no brainer.

Edit 08.04.2022: And apparently i was right, because in the last two months nothing has changed. Yes, the defs are having things to do and there are other parities they need to look into, but the defs also aren't just one person.

I agree. Making it like Java where you can change colors or even put labels would be great

This feature might be tiny, but it is *essential* to the mapping aspect in Minecraft. Markers would make the experience more immersive, organized and personalized, providing the player another tool to build their imagination. Not having this in Bedrock Edition is outrageous; it really is a “common-sense” feature. Please add this as soon as possible. The advancements with mapping are one of the reasons I returned to Minecraft after a long hiatus. This would make the mapping aspect feel much more complete; just making cool maps alone attracted several of my friends to the game, this feature should never go under-appreciated.
