The frying Pan or Skillet is a new Tool & Weapon.
As a Tool-
The fry pan can be placed on top of a campfire or furnace. And used to cook food. It can hold 1x items when in use
ie.) 1 raw beef and after cooking finishes will contain 1 steak.
Advantages-
a.) The advantage of using the pan over just the camp fire is that the food will remain in the skillet after it is cooked and wont drop to an entity and you can potentially lose that food if you forgot about it.
. b.) Additionally food could cook faster in the skillet.
-
When placed on top of an active furnace you are getting more efficiency out of your fuel because you could be smelting ore in the furnace and cooking a potato in the skillet
As a Weapon-
The Skillet would be Minecraft's first true blunt force weapon. When wielded in the hand you are rewarded with the beautiful sound of metal upside the hit box of your opponent . On its own a skillet wont deal a ton of damage (slightly less than an iron sword ) but it does have the advantage of having the equivalent of knock back 1 “baked right in”.
Burn damage- (This is a property not an enchantment) If your skillet was just used on a campfire or a furnace (within 3-5 min) watch out it is still hot! It will deal a small amount of extra burn damage after the initial hit.
As an Off Hand Weapon-
That's right we still haven't covered the versatility of this beautiful weapon. In the off hand its a shield. It should only have at most half of the block chance of a normal shield. But you can still attack with it. Although the damaged is reduced (but maybe if you crit its full damage?) all effects from enchantments still apply. This, my friends makes the skillet an absolute game changer for combat.
Enchantments-
Although I think there is potential for the skillet to take other weapon or tool enchantments (Like BOA efficiency) there are 3 enchantments that I think work uniquely with this item.
Efficiency- When enchanted with Efficiency cooked food output has a chance to multiply and has a better chance to do so and output more cooked food respective to the level of the enchant
ie.) 1 raw beef and after cooking finishes will contain 2 steak.
Knockback- This is what makes this item truly sing in combat. Because knock back is a natural property of the skillet Knock back gets a hell of a boost on the skillet. The impact of knock back enchantments are doubled. Knockback1 is equivalent to knockback 2. Knockback 2 enchantment would be like getting hit with knock back 4 on another weapon and so on.
Searing- This is a new and I think super cool enchantment because it is a dual use enchantment. Searing means that the skillet is always hot. This as applications for the skillet both as a tool and weapon. Searing could be applied to other tools and weapons as well but combined with the Skillet it has special benefits.
Tool use- You can cook food anywhere just put the skillet on the ground and toss in your favorite raw food let simmer. The higher the level of this enchantment the faster it cooks.
If enchanted to its highest level the skillet can be used as an infinite fuel source in a furnace but the speed of the furnace is halved.
Weapon use – Burn damage is increased relative to the level of the enchantment and if the pan is already heated up as discussed in the burn damage description the damage is doubled for the remainder of the time the skillet has for its property buff .
Thank you for your time in reading my suggestion and your consideration and thanks to anyone who decides that this deserves your vote. I think that this item as well as being functional for non-combat players Could change the face of combat in mine craft just imagine taking a swing at someone with your sword then bashing them in the face with your skillet knocking them clear out of the combat zone with a burning face wondering what just happened. Or a loan player actually having a chance to evade a hostel with better weapons and armor party trying to run them down. I think the skillet would be a fantastic and transformative addition to the game.
