Another problem is that dead zone is too big, my right thumb starts to hurt when I'm trying to build something requiring precision because I have to move stick much further then I used to.

it makes it impossible to aim with a bow cuz the deadzone is wayyyy too big

We NEED to be able to adjust the controller deadzone. It is impossible to aim far with the bow, because the deadzone is so big. The bow is not the only problem, it's annoying to play this game just, because the deadzone of the joysticks is so big. This is something they must change.

New player here bringing attention to this issue.

I can't believe more people aren't concerned with this. It HURTS so bad on my thumb and forearm when trying to make precise motions. For instance, using the bow or placing a fence on top of a single other fence.

I have some heavy controller drift and I’m tired of compensating just to play the game.

Man, just playing pvp's is so annoying, specially with mobile players (who's touch controls are EXTREMELY BROKEN may I add) and keyboard and mouse players. And to top it off, aiming with the bow is just flat impossible.

Is there still no fix for this?

    It appears not.

I'm really hoping this comes with an update soon. I don't want to fall into lava and lose 41 diamonds again because of the gigantic deadzone stopping me from moving my aim.

Not everyone has a broken controller or plays on keyboard and mouse. This feels like such a small easy thing too.

Please add this feature, on ps4 the deadzone is so low that a slight stick movement causes movement in game

Please, add this option, Mojang! I play Minectaft on Xbox Elite controller and trying to create ultimate settings for comfortable building and targeting with bow, but dead zones is so big that my settings don't make much sense.

Also, i think, much players be glad to see option for controlling camera acceleration.

Sheesh, the cursor controller deadzone for Minecraft PC windows 10 is just horrible and way too large for any regular player to try and use, and it's even worse having to use my arthritic hands constantly aching from the large amount of force they have to overexert on the joystick. I'd be fine if there was just an option to change it on a scale of 1 to 20 (.5,.10,.15,.20,...). I've already checked various sites and Steam's generous controller calibrator and they can verify that the controller's sensitivity works fine but the only problem is Minecraft Windows 10 Bedrock's horrendously large deadzone and lack of any controller deadzone option.

Looking at the comments, the PS4 stick deadzone is far too low and the Xbox One stick deadzone is far too high. Clearly we need some way to change this, such as a slider, similar to the sensitivity settings.

Deadzone is way too high now! It makes it feel like input lag instead of anything useful

I've been confused for a while on why the developers, or project managers, or whoever had input on the decision, chose to use such a high deadzone without considering adding a slider for it. This has been an issue for as long as I can remember and is past due for an update.

Plz add a dead zone slider. I didn't mind the dead zone back in the days but now it makes it pretty difficult to place blocks and do 360 no scopes on creepers.

I'm also waiting for this. It is very hard to control camera precisely since deadzone is so large.

Almost 7 years and still no option to tweak the deadzone. The deadzone isn't nearly as bad playing on an iphone with a backbone controller, so I know its possible. Please, please fix this issue. I would love to play Minecraft on the Switch 2.

With hall effect and TMR becoming common, we desperately need an option to reduce the deadzone now more than ever. And of course folks stuck with drifting sticks still need a way to increase it. Please give us a slider!

Dude, it is utterly baffling that there is STILL no deadzone slider on the latest version of Minecraft on the Switch in 2026. I am playing on a Switch 2 with a brand new Switch 2 Pro Controller that has no drift whatsoever. There is no reason for the deadzone to be this damn high!! This makes the game feel unlike any other game I play with a controller, in a bad way. It is close to unplayable for me. I actually would rather just fire up my PC or Steam Deck instead where these kinds of issues are always fixable.

    Just add deadzone sliders please.
