With the stone cutter, grind stone, and all the new crafting blocks coming out I was surprised not to see a "Stone Crusher".
Simple concept, put stone blocks in and get gravel, put gravel in and get sand. Put in granite in get granite colored gravel/ repeat and get granite colored sand (Cobble, Diorite, Andesite, Netherrack, End Stone, prismarine/dark, sandstone/red, and even Obsidian etc).
Works with hoppers; redstone.
To craft this you would need Stone and iron ingots on the outside and a diamond in the center. (Maybe after 1024 uses they need to be repaired with a single diamond)
It seems so obvious to me given the game already has cement. It really adds a new dimension of usefulness to all of these blocks. Mining would have more value vs grinding gravel and sand from specific biomes.
Maybe even half-slabs and stairs and such could be repurposed by crushing them up. Maybe the same could be done with concrete and it goes back to be the powdered form (They already recycle concrete / cement in real life). Maybe Terracotta could be turned into clay (Building with bricks would be so much less a grind and think of al the swampland we would save)
Some thought would have to be given as to how long it would take for each block to be processed.
