Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

You definitely need some more votes on this. The custom duration of notes would make recreating certain songs sound so much better.

I definitely agree with this. It would make music in Minecraft much easier to make. I usually have to look up the Minecraft wiki to check how many times I need to click the block so this would be pretty handy. Especially since I have to break the block and replace it if I overshoot the note.

Just one thing though. Perhaps instead of choosing how long a note plays for, maybe the length will depend on how long a redstone signal stays on the note. This would probably be a bit harder, but manageable.

But really, I'm surprised no one has seen this yet. It would be a great addition to the game, if not like a fix to the system.

I agree with @ThornVineRose on the fact that redstone signal duration into a noteblock should affect how long a note is held, the redstone community would love it I bet.

I’d also argue that there should be some sort of amplifier block that increases the loudness and reach of a noteblock sound for evert one amplifier you place on top. For example, one amplifier would amplify the sound by two times and then another on top would amplify the sound by two again and increase the radius it is heard by 10 blocks. Perhaps a limit of 12 could be applied (the same amount of blocks a piston can push) so as to not cause griefing by sound.

I firmly believe note blocks need an update and I do hope this post receives more attention.

I think signal strength should be volume, and signal length should be note duration.

I do like the idea of a Notebook GUI, but we could have something more simpler, like say for example we had sugar, we left click with the sugar to increase the tempo, and then we could use spider eyes to slow it down. (These are the items used to make speed and slowness potions.) I only say this because, you don't want to be backing out of a Notebook 24/7 also, how will you be able to access the GUI.

The buttons remaining are: the Menu button, the left/down D-Pad buttons and click left stick. (That for consoles). PC players have so many keys to use, that's why I didn't list them.

You can see the note in F3 debug info if you look at the block. But yeah adding duration/volume control and some kind of GUI would still be awesome.
