Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Growing Quartz

What if quartz fragments could be placed in on a block in water and would then grow onto the surrounding blocks. This would be a great alternative to having to scour the Nether looking for a vein of quartz.

    Water can't be placed in the Nether, meaning that the player would have to grow quartz outside of the Nether which would effectively remove a reason for going to the Nether.

    I think quartz should simply be more common. You would still find the same veins as usual, but you can occasionally find caves filled with crystalline pillars of Raw Nether Quartz which would drop regular Nether Quartz unless Silk Touch is used.
