Sand Layer Desert Biome

Snow has layers, so what if sand had layers too? It would make desert biomes look alot smoother and more realistic. Not that realism should be taken into account in Minecraft, but desert biomes are the most awkard (Just my opinion!) looking biome of all because that lack of realism. Don't forget to vote if you like the idea!

    This is a good idea. Since sand is loose, it would look like the sand is spreaded out. Also it would add in the possibility for sand dunes.

    P.S. Bilbo Baggins, the desert is the most plain/barren biome out there. Think again.

    Well, I have to say, everything looks better in real life than in Minecraft.  Minecraft has a distinct, blocky look.  You might have a different opinion, but I like the blocky look, and I don’t want it to change.

    They could give the desert biome it's own form of "liquid" like Quicksand.

    Sand layers could spawn during a new weather event known as a sand storm / dust storm

    I think this is an awesome idea! And is this sand was replenished like ACWavelength suggested, this would be a very good way to make sand renewable.

    just like bedrock snow layers don't stack infinity what it snows, even though they should, so the deserts could actually get taller or more smooth with sand dune layers.

    maybe in sandstorms when the sand layers stack it should only stack on the most interior blocks first so it generated peeks and valleys until it's a solid sand block then the blocks adjacent can start to pile next to it smoothly in dunes.

    Other blocks too like gravel.
    but it doesn't pile as smoothly as sand so it looks more messy.
