Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

    cool idea but there is so many posts about light that can be held in your hand. expand on the post... ad a description of the crafting recipe. that will give Mojang a better view of the idea.

    think this is a bit too modern. dynamic lighting would be a better. hold lighted object in hand, have light.

    The reason I say flashlight, is because apparent people believe Minecraft isnt allowed to put in a way for torches to light up in your hand.

    Support, but I want a nerf. Two nerf suggestions: 1. This item has limited durability. 2. You can't use this item and a weapon simultaneously.

    how about

    crafting recipe;

    • flashlight: 2 torches, 1 glass pane, 2 iron ingots (cannot switch off, lasts for 2 minecraft days, can repair with 2 torches)
    • redstone flashlight: 2 redstone torches, 1 glass, 2 iron ingots, 1 stone button (can switch off, can switch off, lasts for 6 minecraft days, works forever)

    benefits: can hold in your off-hand, helps with blindness, say goodbye to placing torches

    problems: attracts mobs!

    reverse flashlight: 1 redstone flashlight and 8 amethyst geodes (repels every single mob, works forever)

    (can also be placed!)

    Amaizing for deep dark. It should involve copper ingot and amethyst shards to craft. It will consume redstone dustp right from inventory to work (like batteries). Great way to utilize excessive redstone for those players who dont build mechanisms. It is not mean to replace torches (because it consumes redstone at fast rate), but to act as portable source of light in tought situations (like escaping from Warden). It should blink everytime new redstone dust item is loaded - to notify player.

    Copper, redstone, amethist are all avalible on caves. Would be great yo have more crafting recepies involving them

    I fully agree, and if it was in the tools tab we could have batteries included (which could open alot of possible ideas) and when you turn it on it uses 1 damage and when you either switch off of it or put it in a chest it turns it off, and batteries could be made with redstone dust, iron nugget, and gold nugget
