We need this and in the aquatic labyrinth you can find the pearl sword which could be crafted with two pearls on top of a stick but would have less durability than gold because it would do 5 damage on land and 20 damage in water (overworld) does 30 damage in the abyss.

The whole pearl items seem like a bit much. I think that the abyss, rather than being a completely separate dimension, should be found within an infinite ocean. However, this rare biome would only spawn in one place, being an exclusive biome to each Minecraft world. You could use something similar to pearls or nautilis shells to find it, like how you look for the Stronghold to the End. But other than that, THUMBS UP.

Pardon me if I missed this somewhere in the description, but my only concern is portal generation in the overworld.
There can be long tracks of land with no large bodies of water nearby, so how would the portal generate? Would it seek out the nearest large enough source of water, and you’d have to do some portal linking? Would it generate water around it?
    I have two possible solutions:
    1. The Abyss would only generate where there is a sufficient amount of water in the overworld, and cannot be moved through outside of that area
    2. Portals can only be built when there is sufficient space in the overworld (5x5x2 submerged, maybe a small margin of error would be accepted?). In the Abyss, it would replace whatever blocks needed with the portal/water blocks.
I apologize again if you already brought this up, and I fully support this idea! I just thought it needed to be addressed since I didn’t see it.

I like the idea, but it seems like it was taken from Calamity mod in terraria too much.

This sounds cool, but wouldn't it make travelling through the nether useless?

Would this mean that the abyss is 1/16 the size of the real world like the nether is 1/8 of the world

Yes idea is good but it should be completely surrounded by bedrock just like nether. When we get there there should be no portal just like the end portal. User has to build it by himself. And there should be no water block in a radius of 30 blocks so that user has to bring water breathing potions to make their return to overworld. Moreover water should be able to destroy any block except obsidian due to pressure. e.g at y 70 water acts normally but at y30 it breaks glass and at y0 it breaks everything except obsidian. Moreover ground should be full of magma blocks so that user has to build portal on y 0 with help of obsidian

I'll suggest two new mobs (Both of them were real animals millions of years ago)

Helicoprion- A small shark with a very strange jaw. It is hostile

Dunkleosteus-  Avery large fish with armour plating on its face. It has no teeth, instead it has razor-sharp plates of bone in its mouth that can shear a player in half.

Maybe make it so that pearl amour and tools are not stronger than diamond armour and tools minecraft has always made diamond tools and armour to be the strongest and i will like it if it stays like that. Any way love the idea and i absolutely think that mojang should add this into minecraft😁😁

I think a sythe and a hoe should be kept two different things. Though I would like to see sythes in game with all different material options. Although this is a discussion for its own thread

Hi! I've been following this post for a few months now, and I wanted to tell you to keep up your great work, but also a few suggestions. Mojang said sharks would never be added to Minecraft, so they might disregard the post if they notice the mention of sharks.

Pearls are honestly a little OP, because in vanilla MC, having enchanted diamond armor makes you pretty much invincible. I like the idea of a more powerful armor than diamond, but it should be almost not worth the trouble to procure. It should be D*** near impossible to get it. But if you agree with me, than would you mind changing pearls to another material because I always thought of pearls as brittle and fragile. I would be okay with pearls being implemented as the material with redstone qualities, but not for the armor.

I love the dimension and monsters, but I think the pearl items are a bit much. If they were less powerful than or equal to their existing counterparts, it would make them more interesting.

So the entire dimension is submerged underwater?

Using an Item to summon a boss? I think it should already exist somewhere in an obscure building in the abyss. But i LOVE the idea of spawning at the ceiling of the abyss. Gives the player the perfect mix of terror and curiosity.

Minecraft Developers have said NO to sharks so replace it with something else.

Dunkle (Dunkleosteus) - Predator, aggressive mob to replace Shark; attacks passive mobs

Perhaps the pearl dust should have an effect on potions, like redstone and glowstone, but combined, given that it is rarer than either. This would add value to the pearl dust. Also, add a crafting recipe combining the aquatic gel with pearl dust to craft aquatic cream, like the abyss counterpart of magma cream which is a nether item. Aquatic cream would be used to brew a potion of either drowning resistance or dolphin's grace, which could both be combined with fermented spider eyes to create a potion that either increases drowning damage or negates the water breathing effect of having killed the Kraken for a limited time. Pearl dust could be crafted into pearl blocks which would be the underwater equivalent to redstone blocks. Perhaps consider changing pearl powder to mother of pearl or add a crafting recipe for mother of pearl involving pearl dust and nautilus shells. The separate mother of pearl could be brewed into a potion of water vision, or could be crafted into abyssal lamps. Abyssal lamps could be activated by pearl dust or some redstone/pearl dust trigger like a lever and fuction otherwise exactly the same way as redstone lamps.
