There should also be a setting while creating your world to choose the biome you want to start off in. I choose mesa!

This would be better as an expansion on the /place command, along with a radius parameter so that micro-biomes can also be instantiated.

    Format: /place biome [biome ID] [x] [y] [z]

    Example: /place biome dark_forest ~ ~ ~

This command entry would force a Dark Forest biome to appear at the player's current coordinates.

Maybe there could be minimum and maximum radius parameters implemented.

    Alt Format 1: /place biome [biome ID] [x] [y] [z] [maximum radius]

Alt Format 2: /place biome [biome ID] [x] [y] [z] [minimum radius] [maximum radius]

If only three numbers are given, they will be read as X Y Z coordinates.

If four numbers are given, they'll be read as X/Y/Z and a maximum radius.

If five numbers are given, they'll be read as X/Y/Z and minimum and maximum radii.

How would that work though? Do you mean just changing the specific biome colors, (grass, leaves, vines, water, etc.) or literally changing the BLOCKS in the biome to something else automatically?

I would rather have a /fillbiome command as /setbiome would probably be 1 block or maybe both would be good

Why is this not a thing?

This might be difficult to code because when a biome generates it needs to go through a whole process but if you tell the game "I want this place you already generated to be a different biome." It would probably ruin the game by trying to regenerate that area as a new biome. This will need to be worked around to prevent a new biome from generating and instead just change environmental settings. Understandably it might be a while before this is in the game.

I'd love this so much. Especially in void worlds with no biome.

This would be great! But maybe it should be /change biome instead.

Otherwise, this would be good for fixing broken/corrupted chunks!

Seriously, this is something so basic and obvious. Why hasn't Mojang included this yet? I've been waiting literally half a decade.

I totally agree, I want to changes certain biomes in my nether so I get different appropriate particle effects and so I can stop pigeons from constantly spawning in my nether hub

    Can you do /setbiome ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ [biome]?

Isn't this command better than some sort of /fill?

Honestly I’d be so happy to have this change, ever since the Shattered Savanna got removed, my build has been ruined as the grass texture went from a vibrant bright green, to a dead desert yellow…

If this were added it would need a y1 and y2 value because of underground biomes.

Took forever to finally get this implemented, but thanks team! Hopefully they can increase the limited 32K fill of using the command... not really that useful and doesn't change an entire biome. Increase the command's limit by 100x so modern 2015+ PCs can use it efficiently please.
