Different Dog Species Relative to Biomes

Minecraft should have different types of dogs, and depending on that dog type, it would spawn in a certain biome.

Example:

Wolf = snowy biomes

Coyote (Prarie Wolf) = Plains biome or grassy biome

Dingo = Sandy biomes

 

And in villages, or even surrounding them, would be more house-pet dogs, like beagles, or poodles or something. :P

Its just a thought though :)

    I would love to see this! Now almost every other mob has multiple colour variations, it's honestly distracting that there is one (1) colour of wolf and they always look identical. Even just one or two variations, like a rare black or white wolf spawn would make the world come alive. I'd also like to see greyish, brownish and sandy-coloured morphs for different biomes.

    I would actively dislike having modern pedigree-type dogs in Minecraft, though, even in villages. Especially since a lot of them have extreme health problems in real life. I'd hate if Minecraft added brachycephalic breeds like pugs as if they're a cute thing and not a health problem. Plus, dog breeds come in lots of different shapes and sizes, meaning much more time and hassle for the devs making different models. Far easier to have one basic mutt shape but give it some colour variations that would make them feel more unique and help players to bond with them.

    tl;dr unique wolves yes, unique dogs should be mod territory

    Whilst I don't like the idea of finding different dog breeds in Minecraft because it's not really accurate to how wolves work. Ocelots were separated from cats because both were in Minecraft but they were under the same tag unlike in real life which is why they were separated in the first place. We've never had dogs in Minecraft, only wolves. The idea of having different species of canines does appeal to me much more though. It'd also be neat if we got a dire wolf.

    YES!!! Imagine even, in villages there could be stray dogs roaming around like cats and specific dogs could have specific qualities!! For example, German shepherds - because they are police dogs, could be able to find buried treasure, and just sit overtop of wherever the chest is. Golden retrievers were bred to retrieve geese hunters shot from the sky so what if they did just that, they retrieve loot and bring it to you. Border collies are farm dogs so what if they sorta herded pigs, sheep, cows, etc to you and you did whatever you wanted. Smaller dogs that weren't bred for anything other than being a companion could literally be a companion, like they sleep with you when you go to bed and stuff, they would fit cause they are small. Greyhounds could be faster than other dogs, and dogs like Doberman could have a very powerful bite against mobs, there are so many possibilities. It would also be cool if the only way to get a husky is to breed a wolf and a dog, like how the only way to get a mule is to breed a horse and donkey. It would be so cool to have variations of dogs and wolves!

    Yes and different villagers have different dogs, cause to me the job the villagers has changes their personalities, like the cartographer I think is like a rich guy or something (probably because of his outfit) making his choice of dog a poodle and maybe it changes what cat he gets (and a 50/50 chance to get a dog or a cat) like an exotic cat for mr/ms cartographer like the Siamese cat

    With this idea I would like to be able to tame them if that's possible please I love all animals and would like if the types of dogs or pets would be able to tame I would like more different sizes and colors of dogs too if possible too..

    This idea would be amazing! There could also be an achievement like a complete catalog but for dogs! Imaging visiting your friends base and seeing he has a Siberian husky!

    Mabey maybe if you nametag a dog a certain breed name it would change into that colour or something? For example if you nametagged a dog “Labrador” it would change into a Labrador.

    My suggestion on the dog issue would be to have the variety wolves and then when You tame them and they get a collar they would change to a random type of domestic dog, like a collie, lab, beagle, on and on.  Minecraft added a variety of cats so this should not be that hard.

    There should be so many dogs! I was super happy when there where more kinds of cats and I would play more if there where different kinds of dogs.

    While I would love to keep the vanilla aspect and not make it feel so modded I personally don't think that they should change the models of them to much just have different textures like the cats but I wouldn't hate it if they added a little spice to the models
