A solar eclipse would be cool to see in Minecraft
Add blood moons!
Maybe a blue moon?
Here's my idea that expands on this a little bit:
Mob Sieges would happen during both the New Moon and the Full Moon. These mob sieges would be limited to Hard difficulty, including Hardcore Mode.
Like you said, the mobs would spawn more frequently and maybe they could even be drawn to artificial light. No, Creepers wouldn't blow up your house while you're inside it, but they would be on your land.
Having Mob Sieges occur on the Full Moon would make the first night much, much scarier, just like how it was when we first started playing the game.I think that this would work, but things like witches should spawn more often during this time, also, dogs and wolfs should howl at the moon if there is direct sky access above the block they are sitting or standing on.
Shouldn't it be the full moon as untamed wolves change into werewolves/become hostile on the full moon and the full moon is creepier/more superstitious.
How about on full moons, all untamed wolfs are naturally aggressive.
The phase of the moon has two subtle effects on mob spawning:
- The number of slimes that spawn in swamps is proportional to the moon's fullness: They are most numerous during the full moon, and none spawn during the new moon. (The moon's phase does not influence the normal spawning of slimes in designated chunks at altitudes below y=40.)
- The fuller the moon, the higher the chance skeletons and zombies have the ability to pick up items and spawn with weapons and armor. Furthermore, there is a higher chance for their equipment to be enchanted, and if it is, the enchantment levels are higher. A fuller moon also gives spiders a greater chance to spawn with random beneficial status effects, including invisibility. All of these effects combine with the world's difficulty; with higher difficulty levels increasing the chance of mob buffs.
Taken from the wiki. They already implemented this, I can't imagine they'll take it farther
I love this idea, currently Phantoms are too rare and should be a more comment Mob that you have to deal rather than just avoid with sleep.
Yeah, that's actually pretty cool! And maybe mob spawns are reduced on the full moon.
I'd love to see some sort of wave system implemented into these nights as well in certain difficulties of the game. Perhaps getting a special reward at the end of it all?
Maybe it could only happen after you've defeated one of the current bosses in Minecraft. Either way, I like the idea.
There should also be a solar eclipse event
I like this idea! I also think that wolves should turn into werewolves if they're let outside during a full moon. Instead, you should have to keep them inside to prevent this. Since that requires creating a new mob, perhaps it would be easier to just make the wolves go into hostile mode (regardless of whether they're tamed). We can worry about upgrading that to werewolves later on.
I think that this should occur 1 out of every 8 full moons (12.5%) and t would be called the blood moon where the moon turns red and there is no way to sleep through it.
This is simaler to notch's idea for the red moon
I vote that if this is added the it should be the red mooncan you turn it on and off
What about if you made it a blood moon you could spawn through a crafting ritual ... The moon would go red for.one night. Portals would open, mobs stronger and different skinned, can open doors and some even attack blocks. It would be almost like a even more survival version of the illager raid.
there should be new mobs that spawn only with the new moon and attack you. This could even lead to a boss event during the new moon.
It could even be a blood moon event, so every other or every 3rd New Moon it will be Red signifying a blood moon event.
I skip any night that phantoms show up, they're the worst mob in the game
I second that phantom idea. Far too often are phantoms ( A huge addition from minecon) ignored and often not even known about by most players due to them sleeping so often. Quite a shame to see a great mob go so unnoticed. Forcing you to see them once an in-game week on new moons would make them relevent again.
so legend of zelda's blood moon? Also itd be cool if we got this in a monster update
Also don't forget the very rare Blue Moon event, which would act the opposite, for one night in every hundredth or so, it makes the mobs friendly. They will simply ignore you, but if you attack them, they will back.
