Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Placeable Gunpowder

Gunpowder is a dust just like redstone, but why can't you place gunpowder down to act like a fuse. Forsay redstone could be used to do that, but gunpowder could maybe burn nearby blocks when ignited. It would also be more delayed and be more realistic rather than it being ignited instantly. I know you can use repeaters, but they could blow up in the process. It would look like a greyish stone color of redstone when placed down. You can also ignite it so when mobs walk over it, they burn. It can also work on players, but if a mob or player has boots on, their feet will be protected. I think that this could be useful, but also bring another use for gunpowder for the game; expecially when you have killed a lot of creepers in your days of Minecraft.

    I dont think that you should be set on fire if you just walked over gunpowder. Like, you would have to have a tripwire above the gunpowder to be set on fire, but a more realistic idea might be to make it so that the gunpowder explodes in a line when triggered

    I have another idea: Upon powering or using flint and steel on gunpowder it will cause a tiny explosion

    great idea! 

    i have been thinkling about iot for ages.

    since redstone lights up when powered, the gunpowder should catch on fire.

    What if, by walking on a gunpowder trail, the fuse instantly stops? Dropping a torch (either redstone or regular) onto the gunpowder trail could set it burning again.

    this is a silly idea, Redstone already does that, Mojang wouldn't add a retextured Redstone only for exploding TNT, if they removed TNT being able to detonate via Redstone, then there is a real reason to add it.

    Glowstone Dust and Sugar are both powders, you can't place them either. I get your point, though! I wonder if you could use a gunpowder trail for lighting TNT from afar. You could light one end, and it would burn down to the TNT slowly, allowing you to get away. You can usually escape a single block of TNT, but this could be useful if you have a big chunk of it, and need to get far away to avoid damage to yourself.

    I think implementing this has mechanical merit, but more than anything it's one of those things that every player tries when they first play the game and is disappointed when it doesn't work. I think letting players have those kinds of aha! moments are important and really fun

    This would be great. I watched a YouTube vid about this (Skip The Tutorial, great vids and ideas for the games, he’s cool) and it looks fun, and it would be better than having to mine for red stone, which can be expensive at certain times. It would also add a whole lot of possibilities for tnt, without having to be a red stone genius. Pls add it, it’d be great.

    (and I say the possibilities for tnt cause I’m not good with red stone, and I’m sure others would agree, anyways, pls add it, it’ll be so much fun)

    Yes like redstone but onetime use like a Fuze. mix gunpowder with paper and bone meal to make igniteable Fuze wires

    Placeable gunpowder would greatly enhance demolition mining, placeable glow stone powder would also be a great way to find your way out of caves, and placeable sugar would be a great way to lead animals!

    this would be sick, a fizzing trail leading up to something burnable or to tnt
    there should be some connection to redstone, perhaps dispensers with flint and steel are already ok

    I think you should put a bit more of a description into this. You say you light it, and they burn but does that mean all gunpowder connected to the gunpowder will develop fire over it. This can have cool implications to pvp I think to pull this off they should have the flammability super high, and make it so that way the spread time is fast. I definitely see this being pulled off.
