I think big horn sheep in mountains would be cool. Just add horns to sheep model and make them transparent for the regular sheep. Also mobs spawning in more appropriate biomes would be cool too. For example, pigs and chickens should be extremely common in jungles and forests. Chickens should be rare in the plains because chickens like to stay of the ground at night and there isn't a lot of trees in the plains.

I'd love if there are just variants of every animals like cats, it would add more reason to explore the world to find these new variants and perhaps you could create them by breeding them in specific biomes (e.g. a snow wolf could be bread in any snowy biome, but also there should be a way to artificially create these biomes by like placing snow down that would only affect the type of animal variant.)

One of my biggest problems with Minecraft is that the world just feels really empty, like, give us a reason to actually explore and make it fun

If Mojang added this, Minecraft would be much better.

I think there should be almost infinite different variations of, for example, a single wolf. Of course these variations would work around a common limit.

Imagine there being hundreds of slightly different pixel arrangements on a single grey wolf. That way each wolf would be unique on its own. That'd definitely peek the interest of those who love minecraft pets. It'd add so much uniqueness and individuality to the game. Nobody would have the same boring grey wolf.

One wolf would have white paws, another only three white paws, another has darker ears, another has different colored eyes, and so on. Hundreds of different wolf models all working around a single genre whether it be grey wolves, desert wolves, or winter wolves.

Also, what if there was the occasional blind wolf/cat that, like the new Warden, that would work around sound and not visuals?

The part with the wolves would allow us to have different dog varients as well which would be a nice consensus between Mojang and the community.

I made a related request recently but with some extra breeding mechanics in there that you might like.

Yes! It would be cool if some of the variations were from Minecraft Earth, especially as it's closing down. Also, there should be more horse and cat textures, possibly dependent on the biome they spawn in, like llamas.

I think the lack of variants for chickens isn't too noticeable, as chickens are small and unobtrusive. Real-life farms often have lots and lots of the same-colour chickens. Same for pigs and cows - farms in real life are full of herds of identical Holstein-Friesians. And sheep already have variants, and the existence of Mooshrooms adds a bit more variety too. I think just adding the Muddy Pig as a potential rare pig spawn would be enough to make these basic barnyard animals feel more varied.

The idea of different types of cows sounds like it has the most potential at first, but wouldn't it be more interesting to have a new mob like a yak with its own chunkier model instead of just a reskinned mountain cow? New cow textures alone isn't that exciting.

Likewise, it'd be more varied and immersive to see a "duck" in the game, even if it behaves like a chicken (except for quacking) and both drop poultry meat and eggs, than see lots more colours of actual chickens.

But the lack of variants for the wolf is honestly kind of distracting. Real-life canines are very varied. Their sameness has become really noticeable compared to newer mobs like horses, llamas, cats etc. Out of all the mobs with just one texture, I think wolves are most due an update.

Why not go with biome-specific colours, too? Chickens near swamps could resemble ducks, cows in mountains could have shaggy hair, pigs in Dark Forests could have lil' tusks!
