Abandoned Castles in Snow Biomes/Mountains

A giant tower lurks over the snowy mountains. What could it be, a trap, or a new challenge? Abandoned and destroyed, this castle holds many secrets. Loot found beneath its floors. New monsters along with strays inhabit its walls. The player can rebuild this structure, or fight in its dungeons.

    I also had the same idea... except my idea had undead knights that try to defend the castle.

    Cool to see that its going to be a thing soon. It would fit the archeology update alot.

    I agree that snowy and icy biomes look a bit empty now, but in my opinion we have enough structures where we need to fight. I recently imagined big statue made of ice in cold biomes. It matches coldness and it gives more mysterious vibes for Minecraft. Also gameplay suggestion for this structure: reward for restoring.

    I was inspired by sphynxes in old fantasy movie "Neverending story" (1984), but I understand that it can't be directly copied. So, imagine you through snowy plains,there is nothing but rabbits and rare grass, and suddenly  you see tumble-down  ice statue of ancient mythical creature. Admired its soothing splendor you decide to restore it. Last block is placed and you go backwards to look at your job. Wait, was this chest always there?..You look into it and find delighting loot. Who knows, maybe ancient mythical creature is still somehow alive and thanks you?

    Yes!! This is exactly what the snowy biomes need. Also a great opportunity to revive the Iceologer.

    One's Thing for certain, and its that this structure needs to be Really Rare...

    Minecraft structures now appear so commonly now, that it feels as if the world has already been colonized...

    As for ideas,

    There could be an undead Steward that lives at the castle and summons hordes of enemies for the player to fight...

    Or may be there could a be a secret treasure hunt map found in the castle, with a lock chest and needs multiple keys that are randomly hidden around the surrounding landscape to open it.

    These could be an equivalent for the woodland mansion but for snow biomes! Instead of the evoker there could be the illusioner though, perhaps with a new totem? Obviously it would look entirely different to a woodland mansion, but if it was really big and full of illagers, it would be something really exciting to come across.

    This is truly a masterpiece! It would also add more lore t the game. Perhaps dragons (Glacis drakes or white wyverns) could dwell here?

    Could be a new Illager hideout... how about an undead type of illager that attacks normal illagers and villagers? Sort of like a vampire.
