Allow Chest and Hopper Minecarts to Ride Boats.

A simple way to add storage to boats using existing mechanics. This would be useful for transporting items across the ocean.

Try this concept out with this command

/summon minecraft:boat ~ ~ ~ {Type:"oak",Passengers:[{id:"minecraft:chest_minecart"}]}

    If someone asking
    why would we need chest in a boat and hopper in a boat?
    First you can exploring the entire ocean without full inventory trouble
    But we can use donkey and mule
    Donkey and mule not have enough space for a long adventure

    And my idea for hopper is:
    if you mount on the hopper boat and lead a chesboat and then you fishing item that you fish can easily transport to the chest

    If added now, in 1.17 or 1.18, we maybe use: /summon oak_boat ~ ~ ~ {Passengers:[{id:"minecraft:chest_minecart"}]} to be easier to summon a boat of any type.

    I agree with this to. I am currently designing a Storage Area with a lifetime supply of Barrels. Having Boats with Chests will have me implementing a fishing entrance with a Ender chest that I would put all the fish and treasures in. This would be a nice feature.

    Boats should be mergeable into bigger boats in order to carry more than just the player, they look to small already.

    This does seem really cool, but what if you wanted to take the boat with you? Obviously the chest can't store items upon being broken. So what if you could maybe put shulker boxes or ender chests on a boat? Maybe it doesn't seem like it fits like the chest boat does, but just throwing it out there. The only problem with this, is if you have shulker boxes, you likely have an elytra, and boats wouldn't be the most convenient mode of transportation. So this throws out another idea: what if there was some kind of late game incentive to use boats? Perhaps caves that generate with a local water level will likely have a variation where a long stretch of water will be safe to traverse via boats, but not enough space to safely fly through with an elytra.

    That’s actually a great idea. And maybe we can ride the boat while the chest/hopper are in the boat. That would be really really REALLY cool.

    Perhaps what do you guys think of a motered boat with a chest that would be awesome not having to paddle (since it’s harder on mobile)

    They need to add chest to boat and be able to attach wood to boats to create bigger moving boats.
    Would love to have a giant boat in the ocean that you could use to collect items from different biomes. Would also like to be able to sleep on the boat.

    This wouldn't be necessary because there are boats with chests and minecarts really don't need a boat to move.

    I think that the pinned comment meant to say this was for CHESTS only instead of Boats only, because boats are obvious.
