Mod library / workshop

A library where you can download and manage the mods you want to use. People can upload their own mods, a comentary section on each mod page too, to report bugs and give feedback, for example.

    A mod manager for what? A nonexistent API or a not supported one? Or maybe data packs, but then it would not support multiplayer.

    If you ask me, mojang should just implement forge (or something similar) and stop worrying about villagers. People could make their own changes If a modding framework was put into minecraft.

    I made a post similar to this but included parts about why external software is just time consuming and why a steam workshop kind of tab of the launcher would be easier and faster. Just waiting for it's approval.

    This could be an official api that works way better than the addons system on bedrock so you wont need to go hunting for them just like how bethesda let console players use mods on fallout and skyrim

    If Mojang implements a modding API for Java, it would be less ideal than what currently exists. I doubt it would even allow some of the more complex stuff such as what is possible with ComputerCraft having internet access enabled.

    Besides that, having to manage an API means less new content added to the game, and stable updates may even come out much less often.

    I would absolutely love a steam workshop like place for Minecraft Java, because right now getting mods is very risky when you have to go through shady websites like adfly, but having access to them in something like this would be so much easier and would allow more people to experience mod packs like how famous youtubers can.

    Thats a great idea because some platforms, mostly console, has a lot of troubles when you want to add your own content. Moreover having the ability to give some feedback to others sounds great. I suggest it can also be added an external storage recognition software in order to take your recently created pack from your PC into your console without having to upload it in case of not having internet connection.

    A bit like curseforge, but official? That would be so amazing.

    Edit: it also could do much more than that. Maybe the complete code could get viewed so experienced modders could help new modders with ease, or it could be simplified for many people to work on the same mod project, and there could be example mods to make it more easy. There would be so much potential!

    The Minecraft workshop should be accessed from the bedrock edition's home screen and java edition's launcher. It should also have console support and be called Minecraft Workshop.

    I feel like the marketplace needs a category for addons, in use for adventure maps.

    Basically, Minecraft has reached peak game engine creation.

    Launchers like GDLauncher and MultiMC already do this. If mojang implemented similar functionality to the official launcher, it would show support for the kidding community.
