The addition of this to the game would fix a lot of issues with servers, as many are running on 1.12 instead of 1.13 because fps drops and rendering issues caused by the 1.13 update

Even if it was just for old versions that have been released since the release of Bedrock Edition...

This is something I’ve been wanting badly, a way to play the old version of pocket edition. It would bring back old memories and a chance for people to maybe reconnect with their child hood. I grew up on pocket edition and soon xbox and now pc, a part of me still lives in the old version of pocket edition, the new version is to crappy, I miss the old days, when everything was simple, my brother would actually spend time with me, and the slight fear that a creeper would sneak up behind you.

As someone who recently switched to Bedrock Edition, this missing feature makes it inconvenient for me to commit myself into a long playthrough personally. Because a new update can potentially break my builds or save.

Instead, having the option to go back to older versions for whatever reason or the ability to switch between versions would be extremely helpful for the players.

Since devs are focusing on the parity between Java and Bedrock Edition of the game recently, I'd love to see this much needed feature added in the Bedrock Edition!

I'd love if this was implemented, especially as it would bring a sense of parity between Java and Bedrock. With Java, you can try out an update, but if you decide that you don't want to stay on that version (bad fps, bugs, changed game mechanics that you're not a fan of (think the community who stayed behind from pre update aquatic because of redstone and performance, the pvp community staying pre combat update etc)) you can simply change back to an older update. Bedrock does not have the same feature, so if you update and you can't or don't want to play on the newest version, you can't change back. It would help users with low-end hardware, and let you choose your favourite version of the game.

Given that BDS does not update in cadence with the Client and the client currently forces updates this should be considered critical.

Well I wouldn't mind having external drive support & if it was easier to move the full installed game launcher to some place separate from the main location while moving where the beta saves to.

The reason this won't work is because bedrock is a very new version. The older versions, PE, Xbox and PS4, etc are all canceled versions. Bedrock isn't the same as PE or Xbox legacy. They are the older versions. It would be cool to still play those old games, but it won't work for bedrock, due to being out for what, 3 maybe 4 years now?

Although I think all major versions should be implemented, if there were to be specific ones have them be the version from the old pocket edition demo, alpha 0.10.0 (it was my first minecraft version, and I'd like to relive those memories), the version that first added redstone but was before pistons, and then the version that added pistons.

I honestly like the old versions better than the new ones, maybe because I’ve just been used to them for so long. Lately I’ve been wanting to go back to some old versions on bedrock, but sadly I can’t for the moment. I hope they add this!

MInecraft Bedrock does not update simultaneously, as i type this my son's Switch version is out of date with my Windows 10 version if i could simply pick his version i wouldn't have a crying child because i can't play with him when i promised to.

Note: found this thread while trying to find a way to play with him.

This has been part of Java Edition for a long time. Mojang, please add the launcher to Minecraft for Windows 10! This will let us use add-ons that have not been updated to the latest version of Minecraft.

Any version that's keyboard + mouse compatible should be available for the Bedrock edition's launcher, and maybe even controller compatible if they're making it for consoles, though I doubt it.
