In Java Edition, where a user can switch to for example, 1.9, 1.12.2, or 18w20a, whenever they want. I propose that this is implemented to Bedrock Edition as well, so old commands, for example, don’t have to be continually updated by the creator when a syntax change occurs that breaks the command! Also, this could be useful for creating texture packs, etc., so that newer blocks wouldn’t necessarily have to be in the game that the texture pack hasn’t created textures for.

This is also a good place to discuss any other old versions that may be appropriate for the launcher. Thanks!
That would be fun
I think this would cause a lot of hardship and annoyed grunts while trying to achieve. It was much easier to do it to the Java edition because they've been with that same client for so long now. But trying to get like 2012 Minecraft in the bedrock edition would just be a waste of time for them at least from my perspective.
It would be great!!! I have some friends and we were talking about been able to change version in our phones. So it would be great to have option that allow us to change the version.
Or so we can join a realm that is running on an older version whilst an update is forced onto us without asking for consent, now I'm forced to sit here and moan whilst I could be building epic castles with my friends who weren't foolish enough to restart their laptops tonight
I want to toggle beta and released each other without uninstalling so i need minecraft be launcher too.
Psst, cellphonium :

Great idea even though I don't play bedrock often
I agree and would love to be able to switch between beta and vanilla minecraft on the fly from the launcher. It's quite annoying to have friends that play beta and friends that dont. The current process for switching can be complicated, as sometimes even after I opt out, it continues to install beta. Opting back in isn't normally an issue.
I agree too
I feel this is a great idea, but I think one problem that would be run into is (assuming this is being based off of PE) is that versions older than better together would have to be created for the Xbox One and Windows 10 (along with other versions). For example, if MCPE 0.4 was put up, the versions other than pocket would have to have working blocks for the Stonecutter and the creation of the cyan flower, along with nether reactor support. Another thing is that they would not be able to have the exact same menu, as Bedrock has the option to switch from keyboard to touch to controller, while mcpe 0.4 only has touch enabled, so a way to fix that problem is to decide the device when you open the launcher. I do feel this is a great idea, and it would be really great if they did create this, especially if they could add older PE edition support
There is one huge issue with this. I'm not saying I don't like this, in fact, I LOVE this idea, but storage might be an issue. Especially the mobile variants, where the Nintendo Switch, and mobile versions would have issues. The solution I see is downloading the version you want from the store like some form of DLC, because that way, the updates don't all have to be installed.
I feel that this is wrong. In Bedrock Edition, it opens up really quickly, you can just jump right in. And how would it work on Console and Mobile? Instead, there should be a button on the menu that allows you to change version, with an option to go to the version menu on launch.
I hope they do this because my favourite MCPE version was 0.9.0.
I would love this for my realms, even though it might not be possible for Bedrock. Going back to the old trade-other-items trading mechanic before this insipid time-based reset of trades was introduced would make trading centers viable again. As it is now, villagers are just not worth my time.
I agree that this would be a good idea. I had some further thoughts on this idea:
1.) This would enable people to play Minecraft Realms servers that have not yet been updated.
2.) This would allow you to play with worlds that would be "broken" by new updates.
3.) For the foreseeable future such an update should only be on non-mobile editions of Minecraft Bedrock (and of course Minecraft Java).

Me gusta el lugar 👍
That would be great for example: Comparing Versions with friends or Trying to find all of the changes between updates!
Personally I voted for this, It is a great idea!
This could probably only work (for Windows 10) only back to 0.12.0 alpha, since that was the first version that allowed for Windows 10/Keyboard & Mouse support. Unless the versions before that are edited to have Keyboard & Mouse support as well and ported for Windows 10 use. This would be very useful if introduced.
I totally agree! I play Bedrock, and oftentimes I wish I could go back to older versions. A Minecraft launcher would be perfect. However, how would this work on XBOX ONE?
The option of having multiple launchers would be really nice, like for someone looking for some old Minecraft nostalgia in virtual reality would be a surreal experience.

I’m from 0.5.0 alpha pocket edition. I would love to go back to those good old days
I think this would be awesome. I could bring back memories to the people that have played for years. Like me because I’ve been playing since the official IOS first release.
I really want to leave the beta version because I cant play in some servers
