This is also a good place to discuss any other old versions that may be appropriate for the launcher. Thanks!

It would be great!!! I have some friends and we were talking about been able to change version in our phones. So it would be great to have option that allow us to change the version.

This is something I’ve been wanting badly, a way to play the old version of pocket edition. It would bring back old memories and a chance for people to maybe reconnect with their child hood. I grew up on pocket edition and soon xbox and now pc, a part of me still lives in the old version of pocket edition, the new version is to crappy, I miss the old days, when everything was simple, my brother would actually spend time with me, and the slight fear that a creeper would sneak up behind you.

Or so we can join a realm that is running on an older version whilst an update is forced onto us without asking for consent, now I'm forced to sit here and moan whilst I could be building epic castles with my friends who weren't foolish enough to restart their laptops tonight

I agree and would love to be able to switch between beta and vanilla minecraft on the fly from the launcher. It's quite annoying to have friends that play beta and friends that dont. The current process for switching can be complicated, as sometimes even after I opt out, it continues to install beta. Opting back in isn't normally an issue.

I feel that this is wrong. In Bedrock Edition, it opens up really quickly, you can just jump right in. And how would it work on Console and Mobile? Instead, there should be a button on the menu that allows you to change version, with an option to go to the version menu on launch.

I agree that this would be a good idea. I had some further thoughts on this idea:

1.) This would enable people to play Minecraft Realms servers that have not yet been updated.

2.) This would allow you to play with worlds that would be "broken" by new updates.

3.) For the foreseeable future such an update should only be on non-mobile editions of Minecraft Bedrock (and of course Minecraft Java).

I feel this is a great idea, but I think one problem that would be run into is (assuming this is being based off of PE) is that versions older than better together would have to be created for the Xbox One and Windows 10 (along with other versions). For example, if MCPE 0.4 was put up, the versions other than pocket would have to have working blocks for the Stonecutter and the creation of the cyan flower, along with nether reactor support. Another thing is that they would not be able to have the exact same menu, as Bedrock has the option to switch from keyboard to touch to controller, while mcpe 0.4 only has touch enabled, so a way to fix that problem is to decide the device when you open the launcher. I do feel this is a great idea, and it would be really great if they did create this, especially if they could add older PE edition support

For Versions, I want to be added
1.7: Last version before Villages were removed from "Old" worlds
1.1.5: This is the last version a lot of phones and tablets boot up Minecraft successfully.
1.0.9: Last version where skin packs can be used offline
0.14.3: the Last Version before Xbox Live was integrated, which slowed down the game for some devices.
0.12.1: The Earliest version with Controller and Keyboard support
0.11.2: Last version before sprinting/sneaking/hunger/nether and a few other giant gameplay elements were added
0.8.1: Last version(except for 0.8.2) before "The Update that Changed the Entire Game"(as I like to call 0.9.0) happened.
0.6.1: Earliest Version of Keyboard support(if you count the Pi Edition), Last version before external servers, as well as other things.

The addition of this to the game would fix a lot of issues with servers, as many are running on 1.12 instead of 1.13 because fps drops and rendering issues caused by the 1.13 update

Even if it was just for old versions that have been released since the release of Bedrock Edition...

I think this would cause a lot of hardship and annoyed grunts while trying to achieve. It was much easier to do it to the Java edition because they've been with that same client for so long now. But trying to get like 2012 Minecraft in the bedrock edition would just be a waste of time for them at least from my perspective.

I’m from 0.5.0 alpha pocket edition. I would love to go back to those good old days

I've been wanting this ever since 0.9.0 came out. Maybe make it so that the Launcher is the thing that launches when a player opens Bedrock Edition. There can be multiple profiles, with one always being updated to the latest version(and another one always being updated to the latest Beta if they are signed up for it). Switch and Xbox One players can go back to 0.12.1. Windows 10 players can go back to 0.6.1 (using Pi Edition Keyboard controls, which were in the game until 0.10 or 0.11; I'm not sure which). Mobile Players can go back to 0.1.1. Maybe have them download as background apps or DLC for Xbox and Switch(So they don't take up room on someone's Home Screen/My Games and Apps/Desktop/Whatever) and the launcher launches those background apps.

I would like to see any version pre-0.12.1.

As someone who recently switched to Bedrock Edition, this missing feature makes it inconvenient for me to commit myself into a long playthrough personally. Because a new update can potentially break my builds or save.

Instead, having the option to go back to older versions for whatever reason or the ability to switch between versions would be extremely helpful for the players.

Since devs are focusing on the parity between Java and Bedrock Edition of the game recently, I'd love to see this much needed feature added in the Bedrock Edition!

I'd love if this was implemented, especially as it would bring a sense of parity between Java and Bedrock. With Java, you can try out an update, but if you decide that you don't want to stay on that version (bad fps, bugs, changed game mechanics that you're not a fan of (think the community who stayed behind from pre update aquatic because of redstone and performance, the pvp community staying pre combat update etc)) you can simply change back to an older update. Bedrock does not have the same feature, so if you update and you can't or don't want to play on the newest version, you can't change back. It would help users with low-end hardware, and let you choose your favourite version of the game.

Maybe the 2 most recent major updates. Cause sometimes we play multiplayer and one of my friends can’t update yet, and then they can’t join in. So a launcher is a good idea

I hope they do this because my favourite MCPE version was 0.9.0.

I would love this for my realms, even though it might not be possible for Bedrock. Going back to the old trade-other-items  trading mechanic before this insipid time-based reset of trades was introduced would make trading centers viable again. As it is now, villagers are just not worth my time.

That would be great for example: Comparing Versions with friends or Trying to find all of the changes between updates!

Personally I voted for this, It is a great idea!

This could probably only work (for Windows 10) only back to 0.12.0 alpha, since that was the first version that allowed for Windows 10/Keyboard & Mouse support. Unless the versions before that are edited to have Keyboard & Mouse support as well and ported for Windows 10 use. This would be very useful if introduced.

I totally agree! I play Bedrock, and oftentimes I wish I could go back to older versions. A Minecraft launcher would be perfect. However, how would this work on XBOX ONE?

The option of having multiple launchers would be really nice, like for someone looking for some old Minecraft nostalgia in virtual reality would be a surreal experience.
