I think any event that mimics the weather in the Overworld, whether it's lava "rain" or ash "snow" makes the Nether seem less alien and otherworldly, so they shouldn't be included. It just turns it into a fiery copy of the Overworld. But more unique ideas like the ground intermittently rumbling or random points in the lava starting to bubble then spit lava in the air are really good.

Great idea, maybe it could drip lava from the ceiling that lights you on fire when you stand in it, and lava would spout from the ground randomly as the Nether version of rain and thunderstorms. Could be toggled with /gamerule doNetherEvent and changed with /weather [weather state] nether

Heat wave! heavy fog, mild fire damage?

Maybe a heatwave would be a cool idea, your vision becomes blurry and you get a thirst effect it would give more use to water bottles

    Some ideas for Nether Weather:

Piglin Soup Fog: Super dense fog that reduces players vision to 5 or so blocks, makes traversing dangerous without adding new dangers.

SoulFire Storm: fire sparking along the ceilings or midair if you are above a certain Y (70 or 80+) you run the risk of a random fire starting. at that distance though it's mostly a light show

Bring back the Hovering Inferno. I just want to defeat it so that I can wear it's crown helmet after it is dropped from being defeated.

I think occasionally having strong echoing winds in the Nether will be very cool. Occasionally, when building or traveling in the Nether, you would see the Nether fog suddenly getting denser, and then the Nether particles start getting blown towards a certain direction, followed by constant howling sounds reverberating in the mega cave system that is the Nether, and then you realize that you are getting slowly blown to the side as well. You can press shift/sneak in order to prevent getting blown away or off of ledges. All piglins and baby hoglins caught in Nether wind will panick and try to find shelter from the wind. That being said, the local strength of Nether winds will be affected by the placement of blocks and will not be strong in places that lack space and will not happen in small, enclosed spaces.

Heh, I have a data pack that adds weather to the Nether. Wish Mojang did something like that for vanilla.

    lava rain!!!!

Neat idea, maybe there could be a cracked magma block variation that can form from a normal magma block under certain circumstances, then spew lava in a certain direction 8 blocks.

Like if it meets these criteria:

1.) the magma block has at least 1 air block touching it

2.) the magma block has a lava source or lava flow directly touching it opposite of the air block.

Then it can become cracked at random, and start spewing lava once it has reached stage 3 of cracking, spewing up to 8 blocks in any direction. If spewing horizontally it will bend the stream downward with gravity. Also any cracked magma block could become a regular magma block at any time at random and stop flowing lava, unless the cracked magma block has a lava source directly touching it, giving the player a potential way of using this for decoration or other uses. There could be a way to speed up magma block cracking if an anvil drops on it. I also wish that mining any magma block (cracked or not) would turn into a lava source, and if mining with silk touch, drops a regular magma block. Blowing up magma blocks with explosions could drop regular magma blocks to not mess that part up.

Wither winds strong winds (mobs don't fly away but items do a bit) with soul soil particles around obstructing your vision a bit, while this is happening 75% of skeletons spawning in the valley will become wither skeletons and a chance that if a mob dies it will drop a wither rose naturally like 50% chance to drop one but this weather will be rare activating it in the overworld will not work same with other nether biomes its only for soulsand valleys

    This is really good:

Wither skeleton riding a black undead-horse sometimes appears in the nether, on lower area. (0 to 64).
This black undead-horse would not be burnable.

I've got a few ideas for what these could look like:

    - Ghast spawn mechanics could be changed to spawn only during 'Nether Storm' events, which could also tint the fog, perhaps blue like the soul sand valleys you can commonly find them in. This idea would make the nether more interesting and dangerous, but at the same time make it safer between the storms.

    - Heat waves that sweep through the nether accompanied by a brighter fog and ember particles, igniting wood types other than those native to the nether. This idea probably goes against the concept of not ruining player's creations, but I still think it could be neat.

    - Reinforce the wither theme in the nether by including rare 'Wither Storm' events that spawn wither skeletons across the nether (possibly with better gear, or even involving the skeleton horses). Maybe there could be a way to avoid the storms, probably a ritual involving a nether star, maybe even crying obsidian.

This post has a lot of really good ideas for nether weather events. https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/4417022676237-New-Nether-Events-Haze-Shadow-Storms-Infernal-Showers-Netherquakes I hope that helps!

A soul storm with a bunch of new "fallen souls" flying down from the ceiling and swirling around the environment. Most of them would just disappear, but a few would slam into the ground near the player and spawn into a random Nether mob. The chances would be skewed to harmless mobs, but occasionally a Ghast or something else dangerous will emerge from the fallen soul.

Or you could have a piglin village raid another piglin village of the Nether fortress, which means you can have another way of finding that fort.

How about piglin ambushes If you get near a goblin it may turn into a ambush with piglins riding hoglins and a few piglins on foot

And they are all brutes so wearing gold doesn't help

Maybe lava rain? Like not literally lava flowing out of the ceiling, but little drops similar to rain that do damage over time to the player unless sheltered.
