The proposed update aims to address several inconsistencies and missed opportunities in Minecraft's current armor crafting system. Firstly, the existing progression often leads to older armors being abandoned once superior sets are crafted. This limits player attachment to early-game armors and reduces their relevance, making them almost obsolete for experienced players. By introducing a system where armors are progressively upgraded rather than replaced, players would develop a stronger connection to their gear, enhancing gameplay immersion

Secondly, the use of materials like gold and diamond in armor crafting feels unrealistic. Gold is too soft to be practical, and diamonds are challenging to shape into armor, making these sets less believable within Minecraft's semi-fantastical framework. By shifting to concepts like gilded iron and diamond-reinforced metallic armor, the crafting process becomes more logical and grounded while maintaining the game's creative essence.

Finally, the introduction of intermediary options, such as chainmail crafting and a bronze armor tier. This approach encourages more diverse resource utilization without requiring new ores, enriching the survival experience. The proposed system aligns with the crafting depth introduced by netherite and reflects Minecraft's evolution into a more complex and rewarding game.

This update respects the core mechanics players love while offering fresh depth and practicality, enhancing Minecraft's appeal to players.

seems a bit overly complicated with to much iron variation

id say replace the iron varients with other matirels to avoid confusion (Ie. steel or silver)

and keep diamond armor, as is as that is an essential part of the games identity

I understand your concern about there being "much variations of iron", But technically it's two variations of iron and two variations of metal. About the diamond armor, my opinion is more for personal taste. From a very young age I never liked this armor, because for me it never made sense to have an armor of a non-malleable material. Anyway, it's more of a suggestion of new progression, the main focus is not the material, but the use of a new armor needing the previous one to be crafted, you know? Thank you for your opinion, it was of great help.
