I've extensively played both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, and Bedrock has a huge huge issue and I think something has to be done about it.

Here are a couple things I would like to note on:
Bedrock Edition is the face of Minecraft, it has exceptional performance, it's the most accessible Minecraft version, and has really easy multiplayer.

Java Edition is the version of Minecraft that most people grew up with, either playing it themselves or watching their favorite youtubers play it, everything works when you want it to, and it just feels super responsive overall.

The thing that holds back Java Edition is the programming language, because while it makes the game super easy to create mods for, it runs very poorly, especially with the dated framework.
What holds back Bedrock Edition is the lack of QoL features, compare things like the Bedrock UI to Java, when you open a UI on Bedrock Edition, by default there's an animation of the UI moving up from the bottom of the screen, and it looks very smooth and clean, but with the Screen Animations setting turned off, there's this very noticeable delay from when you press the inventory keybind and when the inventory pops up, it's a ton of little things like this that make the Bedrock experience feel like a cheap ripoff of actual Minecraft, which it shouldn't be because it's the main version of the game.

Things from Java like being able to hotkey items to your hotbar from UIs by just hovering over the item and pressing 1-9(default keybinds) are just missing from Bedrock Edition.

The fundamental issue with Bedrock Edition, and it's that the game was originally centered around being a mobile port of Java, with lots of stuff missing so that it can run on the Phones at the time.
Mobile devices are more powerful now so we can have things like the Nether, instead of the Nether Reactor we originally had.
