Please keep pdb files. I have many friends who have been using them to develop private plugins for the bedrock edition of the game. Please keep them. I'm getting tired of the corporate stuff that keeps getting into the way of the development of a greater interconnected bedrock community, free from hyper commercialization.

every since Microsoft got their hands on minecraft they've been treating this game like trash ngl I can't even download mods without Microsoft's crappy security system getting in the way.

I play primarily Java, but during the times I play bedrock, this is very important to me.

Pdb is a necessary file for so many things. And without all the services that rely on the pdb file, Minecraft may become stale for many users.

Think about it Mojang. The pdb file removal will cause many more problems than it'll solve

Even though I mostly (almost only) play Java and I don't mod it, I understand how important this is for Bedrock players and BDS community so I'm commenting and voting this petition.

Mods are a critical element of Minecraft's popularity and attempting to make them harder to make and use for a large segment of the playerbase can only end poorly for Bedrock Edition.

Don't take away the things that allow people to express their creativity, there must be other ways to fix these security issues

You're killing modding by removing the PDB. Please bring it back.

cybersecurity specialist here. I understand the surface level security reasons for removing pdb's from distribution. Its the default with microsoft for a good reason, it helps with securing the application against exploits and protects the Intellectual property that is the code. however, it cannot be ignored that the reason these PDB files were included in the first place was to allow the community to attempt to keep up with the rising tide that is hacking and to keep developers from having to do treadmill work every time a new exploit is found.

a modding api is not a valid solution in this case, as you would potentially have to document every subroutine and add hooks to thousands of lines of code. minecraft has kept its modding community so active for so long because observing the behavior of both java and bedrock has been simple enough that inexperienced coders can attempt game design. obfuscating will just increase the treadmill work for devs more then it currently is, turn away server admins and server developers, and kill off what has made bedrock worth what it is to Mojang.

I implore you to continue distributing PDB files with the server, while this move is practical on paper it has too many problems in this current situation to justify the action.

The modding community provides so much to bedrock - I don't play it myself but most who I know that do play bedrock love the mods! Please let them access the PDB files and other things that they need to continue creating freely.
