PDB is so important to the Bedrock community, it's a staple... I don't know why Mojang would remove it?

Dampening the ability to mod is the easiest way to strain your relationship with your community. If this change remains unreversed it could pose serious problems to server owners and major community projects that assist this game in staying alive.

Why not be a little bit more liberal with modding? As if it would hurt Microsoft.

Without this the entire modding community on bedrock is dead and this puts a lot of servers at risk that are constantly trying to push the technical limits of modding on bedrock. I think this was an unfair decision that needs to be immediately reversed.

Bedrock, to start, is already worse than java, and now you're looking to make it worse? Security hasn't been an issue for you guys up till now, find a secure way to replace the pdb file or keep providing it until you do, we've struggled along for this long, we can continue to for a while, but don't be killing off the bloody mods. People will find other ways to hack anyway, it's inevitable and you guys know it

I don't even play Bedrock. I use Java. Bedrock's _already_ a raw deal in my eyes, it's _already_ strictly a downgrade.

Don't ruin this for the console players that don't have the choice; you're just going to make multiplayer Bedrock go from a last resort to completely unusable.

Attempting to monetize modding by forcing people into it will result in a very negative feedback for Microsoft in general. It's the most modding friendly company out there in regards to major gaming studios. There are OTHER WAYS to continue returning on investments.

People are not understanding the significance of this, or the reasons why Mojang/Microsoft removed it. They removed it because of potential security leaks and hacking/cheating, but did not take into account that this community is actively trying to fix those issues with anti-cheat measures. The devs are not doing this to force people into the marketplace, as many people believe, they are trying to take the easy way out of ending hacking in servers.

If Java can have modding, why can't bedrock? I thought Mojang wanted parity between the two

this is a very important part of the bedrock community. if we want java and bedrock to not differ, why does bedrock almost always get the short end of the stick? bedrock players deserve good servers. provide us the pbd files :-)))))))))))

Without it we cant have freedom to be in a sandbox game .
Especially if this allowance has always shaped so many devs working on pieces of Minecraft's journey to create extensions without any other worry & will encourage even more individuals to explore & give out to the community if not disrupted in future.

We shall agree that the community should have a right to express their preferences in the product that has been legally distributed between the users.

If you (Mojang) aren’t ready to do everything perfectly, including removing every single bug as soon as it’s discovered then don’t remove this. This allows the community to do your job for you but better and faster. So unless you’re willing to do that FOREVER then just leave the pdb as it was :)

Seriously, it has always been this way and it should remain like this. This is just unnecessary harm done to the community, to the people and it's them who make Minecraft the game that it is. Modding means so much to us, let the developers decide what they need for turning Minecraft into such an enjoyable, collective effort and listen to the screams of the masses.

Even if this is just about profit, community-made plugin loaders going away because of missing a PDB will drive players and therefore revenue away from Bedrock servers and therefore the Marketplace. Who is going to buy chunk claims for a survival server for example if hackers roam free on that server? This is probably even more in Microsoft's own interest than just the community.

All this decision does it limit servers who want to keep pdb files from updating past 1.20, which would mean missing out on any future updates. Plus, servers have historically used it to make their own anti cheats when Minecraft’s built-in systems can’t catch them. It’s faster to allow servers to make their own anticheats in addition to official reporting rather than relying solely on the official channels
