I think the mace should have a unique attack animation in third-person view. The current animation lacks any feeling of weight or impact.

The Mace is excellent but add something else for the new weapon, the mace has powers like flying and has electricity so that it brings lightning on the ground and from above and also has cracks in the ground when I go down with the mace in a dramatic way to Destroy hostile mobs with just one hit like the hammer from Minecraft dungeons

Maces Sometimes have spikes the majority of maces don't so I can see why this mace doesn't . Anyway I love the texture and the strength of the mace but I had this idea

Add shards to maces this would be done by taking the mace to the smithing table to combine it with one of Minecraft's many shards (amethyst , echo , & prismarine) to make a spiked mace , A Amethyst Spiked Mace wouldn't have to have any special effects it could be purely visual

Make it 3d to reference Minecraft legends piglin maces/morningstars and Minecraft dungeons maces/morningstars and add enchants!

Now we have bludgeoning, piercing and slashing weapons
While you are at it make a smithing template to shape and customize these weapons!

Love the direction of these recent snapshots, please more of this!

I think the mace is an amazing idea, however I think the item should have a 3D model similar to the Trident, or Spyglass.

I like the idea of Unique Items having 3D models :)

Suggestion: new enchantment to increase the mace's knock back area

I am enjoying the mace, though I would like to be able to craft tiers (iron/gold/diamond/netherite) like the sword. I also think a weapon type that uses the blaze rod as a base (instead of sticks or breeze rods) would be a nice compliment to this!

They should add a new mob that uses the mace, it could be a copper robot or something like that, plus all the weapons in the game are used by other mobs, like the Trident is used by the aquatic zombie or the crossbow is used by the pillager, it wouldn't be bad if they added a mob that uses the mace

Edit: With copper robot I did not mean the copper golem, but rather a unique robot with a special design that can be generated in the new structure

I love the idea of the mace. But I think that full negation of fall damage is too extreme. I think like an 80-90% damage reduction is more reasonable. Also by using a wind charge skillfully, fall damage could be fully negated.

    Mace is too OP.
Combine it with Elytra and Firework or with Riptide in the rain and you can easily spam 100+ damage.

The higher the altitude, the smaller the damage increase should be or the upper limit should be set

The Mace is such an interesting weapon, but like with every other weapon added to the game (axes*, tridents, crossbows) the novelty wears off and people just resort back to the sword. So there are 3 improvements I can think of that will further solidify the Mace as a viable weapon.
    1. 3D model— As mentioned by other people, it needs a 3D model, like the trident
    2. Enchantments— Currently can’t be enchanted in an enchanting table, and furthermore needs specific unique enchantments
    3. Wind Charge Capabilities— This weapon has obviously been designed to garner height advantages, so how about right-clicking the mace to allow you to shoot a wind charge projectile (consuming them from your inventory like a bow consumes arrow)

*axes referring to when they were officially classified as a weapon

Add Amethyst to the recipe since the Mace also looks purple, it would give the ore more purpose and it would finally be useable in a toolset

Fun idea but I worry it's not useful enough. Like, sure I could drop down on some enemy to try and deal some good damage but why not just use my bow? Why risk dying (or coming very near to it)? I don't think the risk is worth the reward.

And that's just when you intend to fall. With regards to the more common situation of accidentally falling, I still don't think this is a very useful "clutch"/"safety" item either. Why dedicate my hotbar slot to an item that might save me from fall damage but only if I'm lucky enough be landing right on top of a mob (and how often does that actually happen by accident?). Why not instead dedicate that hotbar slot to a better safety item like a water bucket, ender pearl, breeze ball, totem of undying, chorus fruit, etc?

I think some sort of "Impact" enchantment or property would prove useful as a sort of "passive fall damage negator." Like, if you fall while holding a mace with this "Impact" enchantment, it will negate your fall damage even if you don't strike a mob but it shreds the mace's durability. So it's obvs still ideal to hit a mob as you fall but in the (common) situations when that's not an option (or you just miss), at least the mace does something and doesn't leave you regretting not reaching for the water bucket instead.

The new Heavy Core item seems to be too rare. I didn't get one from clearing 2 Chambers even though I feel like it should be basically guaranteed to get at least one, especially from larger sized Trial Chambers

The Mace definitely needs enchantments. I wish more things in the game were enchantable in general.

Please change the Mace's attack speed and damage to make it more distinct. Currently it has identical attack speed and damage as a diamond swords, which is a huge missed opportunity to introduce more depth to melee combat with a new attack speed to learn.

Please consider changing the stats from 7 damage / 1.6 speed to 8 damage / 1.3 speed.

Currently, both parts of the mace, the breeze rod, and the heavy core are found in the trial chambers, having the heavy core found in the ancient city, or another structure would give a different structure more of an incentive. As you would have to go to the trial chambers to get part of it, and then we have to go somewhere else to get the rest. This will encourage exploration of different structures, and not all the parts come from the same structure.

Why is this called a Mace? It looks like a Hammer, it needs more spikes. I also think those spikes should be part of the recipe and should be obtainable as a drop from the elder guardian.

The Mace's base stats seem too similar to the Diamond Sword. I think it should be at least a bit slower.

Really cool addition! My only gripe with it is the lack of compatible enchantments. It would be awesome if, say, the Knockback enchantment increased the knockback of the smash attack, or a new enchantment that made the smash attack deal damage in an aoe was added.

I know everyone's been wanting a new weapon, but this ain't it. This is way too overpowered for any multiplayer server, especially lifesteal.someone could just stand a few blocks above you to kill you. This needs to be wayyyy debuffed

The mace is really cool having its own mechanic.

But it feels like there's something missing like specific enchantments like the trident or crossbow by having a second use on its right click) Not something necessarily making it more powerful like Sharpness or Smite, but more in line with it's knockback for example.

Here's what comes to mind for specific enchaments that the mace could have :

    * Knockback Area I-III (Increases the knockback dealt by the AOE)
    * Wind Channeling (An enchant that could store a wind charge in the hammer itself and would allow the player to gain some height before stricking a blow)
    * Unbreaking I-III

Overall i wish to see more weapons and i'm happy about what we got with the mace. Could be cool to have other uses for the breeze rod and the heavy core too.

    Change the texture!
I love the mace, but the current texture is really weird. It has a perspective angle on it which gives a 3D effect, but when you put it in your hand it is still 2D flat.
Either make it completely flat, like swords, pickaxes, or better! Make it 3D like the trident!

Personally I think it would look better with a 3D model when in hand.

Just want to start off by saying, this weapon when used in conjunction with the wind charges is an AMAZING experience. This is the first time since my childhood that combat in this game has truly excited me!

Wind Charges NEED to be more accessible. With the current state of the trial chambers, wind charges are a fairly rare consumable that makes this weapon VERY impractical. With every other weapon, if it requires an ammo, it is craft-able and the mace should be given the same treatment. I believe that the wind charges should be treated as ammo to the mace, as using the mace without the wind charges just makes it a regular weapon with a negligible perk. Without wind charges, there is very little incentive to acquire and use this weapon.

Alongside this, I suggest that perhaps the mace could actually use wind charges as ammo and can right-click to shoot them (like the trident) It would need to be instant like throwing them in your off-hand, otherwise there is no point in using the feature.

Breeze Rods need more uses. Blaze rods obviously serve the major purpose of reaching the end through crafting the eyes of ender. Converting those rods into blaze powder interacts with the entirety of the potion crafting system, as well as reaching the end. This cements blaze rods as a powerful resource that has a great incentive to gather in decent quantities. but breeze rods currently only serve the purpose of crafting the mace.

I have opinions about the relating mechanics, but I'll stop here

A very good addition to the game, and though it may have just been from my own experience as well as the Snapshot videos I've watched, but I feel the weapon may be too overpowered in the long run under its current state...

If I had to make any changes, I would do one of the following.

1 - For every block you fall before hitting a mob with the Mace, it adds to the amount of durability loss, because a fall from any height doing only 1 damage would ( in my opinion ) be too long lasting for a weapon that powerful, especially with how easy it may be to obtain Breeze Rods to repair it, even if the durability is only 250.

2 - Greatly reduce the amount of damage the Mace does when falling from shorter heights, as I've seen only a jump and a 3-block fall can cause enough damage to one hit most of the hostile mobs that can spawn naturally in the Overworld, and even the Nether, so the amount of damage it can do in short falls should be decreased.

If either of these are done, I would add the possibility of enchanting the weapon, perhaps modifying an existing enchantment like Knockback to increase the distance mobs standing close by are pushed when you strike, or give the Mace the ability to give damage to the enemies affected by the weapon's knockback  ...or you could make a new enchantment specifically for the Mace that can use these mechanics.

In general, I think the Mace is a great weapon, but I think a little nerf would be needed in order to make sure it's balanced for the long run.
